Our client, a leading Tier 1 Main Contractor, is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join their growing team. This position is based in Cork with projects focusing on electrical work on water, wastewater and drainage infrastructure works.
The successful candidate will play a key role across the full project lifecycle including design, delivery, commissioning and handover.
Responsibilities
Design and specify electrical systems for water and wastewater treatment plants, pumping stations and drainage infrastructure projects
Prepare load schedules, single line diagrams, cable schedules and electrical layouts
Develop commissioning plans, control philosophies and system architecture documentation
Coordinate with civil, mechanical and process engineering teams throughout project delivery
Review electrical schematics, P&IDs and wiring diagrams to support system integration
Carry out cable sizing calculations and prepare technical submissions for client review
Conduct site surveys and inspect existing electrical installations and equipment
Source and procure electrical equipment required for project delivery
Supervise installation, testing and commissioning of panels, MCCs, VSDs, motors and instrumentation systems
Requirements
Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering or a related discipline
Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in a similar Electrical Engineer role
Experience working on water, wastewater or drainage infrastructure projects
Strong knowledge of LV electrical and control systems
Good understanding of instrumentation systems and electrical installations
Full clean driving licence with strong communication skills
