About the opportunity

We’re looking for an Electrical Engineer to join our team delivering the Solomon Airport Solar Hub, a 440MW project in the Pilbara region of Western Australia. Once complete, it will be WA’s largest solar development, with around 671,000 solar panels installed across the build and construction due for completion in 2028.

Reporting to the Project Manager, you’ll be the electrical technical lead for our scope, working closely with the Senior Electrical Supervisor and site crews to drive quality and compliance across the electrical installation, through to testing and commissioning.

And this is just the start. Beyond this project, there are plenty of opportunities on the horizon, both in Western Australia and across Australia and New Zealand, as our pipeline continues to grow.

This is a FIFO, site-based role on a 2:1 roster. You’ll be based at one of the best camps in the Pilbara, complete with ensuite rooms, a gym and great recreation facilities.

What you'll do

• Be the electrical technical expert on site, reviewing drawings, specifications and work packs for string cabling, cable management and module and equipment terminations.
• Resolve electrical technical queries and RFIs, working with the designers to close out issues quickly and keep crews working.
• Develop and manage electrical ITPs, test plans and quality records, ensuring installations comply with AS/NZS 3000, AS/NZS 5033 and project requirements.
• Plan and support electrical testing and commissioning activities, reviewing test results and making sure handover documentation is complete and accurate.
• Provide technical guidance to supervisors, leading hands and electricians, helping solve installation issues and lift quality across the site.
• Prepare electrical as-built documentation and contribute to safety, audits and continuous improvement on a remote site.

What You’ll Bring

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Site-based electrical engineering experience on solar, renewable energy or major infrastructure projects.
• Solid knowledge of DC and LV systems, AS/NZS 3000 and AS/NZS 5033, and electrical testing and commissioning.
• Solid knowledge of WHS legislation and safe work practices.
• Confident translating technical requirements into practical direction for site crews, and a practical problem-solver.
• Australian driver’s licence, White Card and working rights.
• Comfortable working FIFO on a 2:1 roster.
• Experience on utility-scale solar or remote and Pilbara-based projects advantageous.
