What you will do

Role Overview:

Electrical Project Engineer supports the broader Engineering team in delivering wind, solar, and energy storage projects. Responsibilities include developing project layouts, preparing RFPs and technical exhibits, managing engineering agreements and technical documents, coordinating consultants, and handling project changes, while ensuring safety, quality, and compliance with company and industry standards.

Main responsibilities:

  • Provide preliminary engineering support for Development, including conceptual layouts, single-line and three-line diagrams, site layouts, utility interconnection designs, electrical permits, and EPC RFP documents.
  • Review EPC proposals and engineering deliverables, ensuring accuracy, quality, and adherence to industry and EDPR standards.
  • Prepare and interpret technical plans, specifications, and calculations.
  • Maintain and update scopes of work, design guides, specifications, budgets, schedules, and lessons learned.
  • Coordinate between the Engineering team and other internal teams to support effective communication and project delivery.
  • Assist with overseeing, guiding, and managing the work of third-party consultants.
  • Provide input for electrical CAPEX, value engineering activities and manage internal engineering services requests.

What are we looking for

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering is required
  • 0 – 3 years of design and engineering experience is required
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) is preferred
  • Understanding of electrical engineering principles.

Physical demands & working conditions:

  • Sitting/Standing/Flexibility: Ability to frequently perform physical tasks including standing, sitting, walking, kneeling, bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching while on project sites; ability to stand and sit for 8 or more hours when in an office environment
  • Speech/Reading: Ability to speak, read, and write English proficiently and deliver a variety of instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram, or schedule form
  • Lifting: Ability to lift items weighing up to 20 pounds
  • Vision/Hearing: Ability to understand a variety of instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram, or schedule form
  • Safety: Ability to understand and communicate safety precautions when necessary
  • Walking: Ability to walk several miles per day, including across unpaved and rough surfaces when on project sites
