Job Description

The group you’ll be a part of

You will be part of the Global Operations Group, driving end-to-end component engineering initiatives that ensure supply continuity, cost optimization, and operational excellence. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional global teams, including Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, and Suppliers, to enable scalable and reliable sourcing solutions

The impact you’ll make

As an Electrical Component Engineer, you will drive supply chain resilience and continuity by leading proactive alternate component strategies that minimize single-source risks and ensure uninterrupted availability of critical parts. You will build strong global supplier partnerships to enable scalable and cost-effective sourcing solutions.

What you’ll do

  • Lead and drive alternate component identification strategy across programs, ensuring robust decision-making through detailed Form, Fit, and Function (FFF) analysis and comprehensive comparison reports.
  • Provide technical leadership and governance in component selection for new designs, actively influencing outcomes in PDR, DDR, and CDR design reviews to enhance product reliability and lifecycle sustainability.
  • Own end-to-end strategy for COTS/OEM component selection and qualification, including connectors, cables, PCBAs, passive/discrete/integrated components, circuit protection devices, sensors, RF systems, and electromechanical parts.
  • Expertise in global electrical standards (UL, IEC, CSA, etc.) with the ability to interpret complex and evolving requirements, and lead component engineering decisions for selection, qualification, and ensuring robust design compliance with global regulatory and safety frameworks.
  • Lead technical analysis of subsystems, assemblies, and system-level architectures to identify scalable, manufacturable, and cost-effective alternate solutions.
  • Define and implement component engineering strategies to mitigate supply chain risks such as single-source dependencies, long lead times and obsolescence.
  • Lead cross-functional collaboration with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Suppliers to ensure successful part qualification, validation, and seamless integration into production.
  • Deliver technical presentations and reports, clearly articulating trade-offs, risks, validation outcomes, and recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Mentor, coach, and develop a team of engineers, fostering technical excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement culture

Who we’re looking for

  • Bachelor’s degree with 12+ years of experience, or Master’s degree with 10+ years, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Proven track record of technical leadership in solving highly complex engineering problems and delivering scalable, high-impact solutions.
  • Deep expertise in global component ecosystem and supplier landscape across OEM/BTP components, including passive, discrete, integrated circuits, connectors, cables, RF systems, sensors, filters, and PCBA components.
  • Advanced hands-on expertise in alternate component engineering, with ability to independently drive decisions and establish organizational best practices.
  • Strong capability in system-level FFF analysis, including integration within complex, large-scale assemblies (e.g., semiconductor equipment/tools).
  • In-depth understanding of component qualification, validation methodologies, and test standards for electrical and electronic systems.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills, with the ability to align cross-functional teams and external partners.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor teams, lead technical reviews, and drive engineering excellence across the organization.

Preferred qualifications

  • Semiconductor industry experience is plus.
  • Ability to work in a team environment with aggressive deadlines and multiple priorities.
  • Good in data preparation using MS PowerPoint, Excel etc..,
  • Ability to learn new skills quickly with minimal guidance.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills including technical presentations
