Job Description

Thenamaris is a global ship manager of high specification modern ocean-going vessels. We help deliver goods to people around the world, enriching their lives. We do this by safely managing a world class fleet of ships, providing the highest levels of service to our principals and clients. Thenamaris (Ships Management) Inc. manages Tanker vessels, Thenamaris ConBulk Inc. manages bulk carriers and containerships, while Thenamaris LNG Inc. manages LNG and LPG carriers.

Thenamaris is looking for an Electrical Engineer to join the Electrical Engineers’ Section of the Technical Department.

In this role, you will work closely with the Electrical Superintendents in supporting a modern fleet of vessels worldwide. You will assist with troubleshooting advanced electrical, automation, telecommunication, and industrial computing systems, coordinating internal and external stakeholders on electrical engineering matters, and ensuring contractors deliver high-quality technical services.

You will also contribute to vessel technology projects, providing technical input on areas such as power systems, smart ship applications, automation, and emerging maritime technologies. The role requires continuous study across electrical and computer engineering fields, as well as research into industry developments, particularly in electrical power systems, smart ship systems, and emerging technologies.

Through vessel visits and fleet assignments, you will gain valuable hands-on onboard experience, developing practical knowledge of marine electrical systems, fleet operations, and technical problem-solving.

Qualifications

  • A degree in Electrical & Computer Engineering from a 5-year polytechnic program or equivalent
  • Previous experience of 1–2 years in a technical role requiring Electrical & Computer Engineering knowledge is required. Working exposure specifically in the shipping industry, ideally in a ships management company, will be considered an asset
  • Strong interest in electrical energy systems, automation, and emerging industrial computing technologies demonstrated through studies, projects, internships, or relevant exposure
  • Ability to work with software programming languages
  • Fluency in English, both oral and written
  • Fulfilled military obligations (if relevant)

Willingness to travel, even with short notice, is required.
