Job Description

Responsibilities
Acoustic Design and Optimization
o Optimizing the performance of TWS earbuds and other audio products with ODM including speaker units, acoustic chambers, and sound tubes.
Tune acoustic performance metrics such as frequency response, distortion, and sensitivity to ensure industry-leading sound quality.
Audio Algorithm Development and Tuning
o Review and optimize audio processing algorithms with ODM, such as Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), Equalizer (EQ), and Acoustic Echo Cancellation (AEC).
Debug Bluetooth audio protocols (e.g., A2DP, HFP, LC3) to ensure low-latency, high-fidelity audio transmission.
Conduct comprehensive acoustic performance testing on ODM products using professional equipment (e.g., KEMAR, artificial ears, APx audio analyzers).
Develop and execute test plans to evaluate key acoustic metrics such as frequency response, distortion, sensitivity, and noise levels.
Analyze test data, identify performance gaps, and provide actionable feedback to ODM partners.
Acoustic Testing and Validation
Develop acoustic testing plans and conduct tests using professional equipment (e.g., KEMAR, artificial ears, APx audio analyzers).
Analyze test data, identify issues, and propose improvement solutions to ensure compliance with acoustic standards (e.g., IEC 60268-7, ANSI S3.25).
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with ODM partners to ensure acoustic performance aligns with product requirements.
Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., product management, quality assurance) to define acoustic standards and test protocols.
Communicate technical findings and recommendations to non-technical stakeholders
Work with the mechanical team to ensure compatibility between acoustic structures and industrial design.
Documentation and Reporting
Document test procedures, results, and tuning recommendations.
Prepare detailed reports on acoustic performance and tuning outcomes.
Technical Research and Innovation
Stay updated on industry trends (e.g., spatial audio, low-power design, multi- and emerging Bluetooth standards) and drive technological innovation.
Participate in patent drafting and technical documentation to enhance the company’s technical competitiveness.
Requirements
1.
Education
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Acoustics, Electrical Engineering, Signal Processing, Physics, or related fields.
2.
Work Experience
Minimum 5 years of experience in acoustic design or audio product development, with preference for TWS earbuds or similar products.
3.
Technical Skills
Solid foundation in acoustic theory, including sound wave propagation, impedance matching, and resonance.
Extensive experience in audio testing, proficient in using acoustic testing equipment (e.g., KEMAR, B&K microphones, APx audio analyzers).
Expertise in digital signal processing (DSP) and familiarity with common audio algorithms (e.g., ANC, EQ, AEC).
Knowledge of Bluetooth audio protocols (e.g., A2DP, HFP, LC3) and understanding of latency, bandwidth, and compression in Bluetooth audio transmission.
Proficient in audio analysis software (e.g., SoundCheck, CLIO) and simulation tools (e.g., COMSOL, ANSYS).
Programming skills (e.g., Python, MATLAB) for data analysis and algorithm development.
4.
Soft Skills
Strong collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with ODM partners and cross-functional teams.
Strong teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate closely with hardware, software, and mechanical teams.
Excellent problem-solving skills, capable of quickly identifying and resolving acoustic-related issues.
Strong communication skills, able to clearly articulate technical solutions and test results.
5.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), spatial audio, or low-power design projects.
Familiarity with psychoacoustics and human auditory characteristics (e.g., equal-loudness contours, masking effects).
o
Prior experience with patents or technical publications is a plus
