Electrical Engineer

About the role
4WD Supacentre is seeking an experienced and technically driven Electrical Engineer to join our growing Product Development team based at our QLD Head Office in Brendale.
This role plays a key part in ensuring the safety, quality, compliance, and performance of our electrical product range, with a strong focus on 12V systems, refrigeration, and power-related products. Working closely with Product Development, Compliance, and Legal, you will support both new product introductions and the ongoing improvement of existing ranges.
This is a hands-on technical role suited to someone who enjoys testing, fault diagnosis, continuous improvement, and working closely with physical products.
Key responsibilities
- Test, inspect, and analyse electrical products for safety, quality, and performance
- Interpret and apply electrical compliance and regulatory requirements
- Diagnose faults and assess electrical warranty returns
- Repair and rework electrical products including 12V systems, generators, and fridges
- Determine outcomes for returned goods (repair, disposal, or escalation)
- Complete fridge degassing, test and tag, and post-repair validation
- Prepare clear technical reports and documentation
- Provide technical input and improvement recommendations to Product Development
Skills & experience
- Qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related electrical discipline
- Experience working with 12V systems, refrigeration, generators, or power products (highly desirable)
- Strong understanding of electrical safety standards, testing requirements, and compliance frameworks
- Proven experience in fault diagnosis, product testing, and technical analysis
- High attention to detail with strong documentation and reporting skills
- Confident written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work methodically, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines
- Experience in consumer goods, electrical products, or manufacturing environments preferred
