Job Title: Electrical Draftsman

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Draftsman to join our engineering team. The successful candidate will prepare detailed electrical drawings and design documentation, ensuring technical accuracy, compliance with applicable standards, and alignment with project requirements. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical systems, attention to detail, and proficiency with CAD tools.

Key Responsibilities:

Produce detailed electrical drawings (schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, single-line diagrams, etc.) for various projects (industrial, commercial, residential, etc.).

Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders to gather requirements, clarify design specifications, and ensure drawing accuracy.

Ensure all drawings comply with relevant national/international electrical codes, standards, and regulations.

Provide revisions and updates to drawings based on feedback or design changes.

Maintain and organize documentation and as-built drawings.

Support cost estimation by providing accurate material/parts data derived from drawing work.

Participate in site visits when required to collect measurements, inspect installations, and verify that as-built work matches design documentation.

Assist with quality control and review of electrical drawings to minimize errors and ensure consistency.

Maintain library of standard details, symbols, and templates for use in electrical drafting.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Diploma or Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or equivalent.

Proven experience as an Electrical Draftsman or similar drafting/design role.

Strong knowledge of electrical systems: power distribution, lighting, switchgear, control circuits, etc.

Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, Revit, EPLAN, or similar).

Familiarity with electrical code standards (e.g., IEC, NEC, BS, or relevant local codes).

Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical plans.

Basic understanding of protection and control systems is a plus.

Good communication skills; ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to work under deadlines.

Preferred:

Experience with BIM (Building Information Modeling) tools.

Knowledge of cable routing, tray and conduit layout design.

Exposure to PLC, SCADA, or other control systems design.

Experience with cost-estimation tools or bill of materials (BOM) preparation.

Other Requirements:

Willingness to travel occasionally to project sites.

Ability to manage multiple drawings/projects concurrently.

Strong organizational skills and ability to maintain drawing/document control.

Company transport will be provided.
