1The Electrical Distribution Project Engineer is part of the Projects Design Engineering organization within Chevron’s ENGINE center. This role focuses on the design, development, and execution of electrical distribution systems across new and existing infrastructure, including overhead distribution, underground installations, and medium-voltage facilities across Chevron's Shale and Tight onshore assets.
The position supports a significant portion of the capital project portfolio, with direct impact on business performance and production reliability. The Project Engineer is responsible for ensuring that high-quality engineering deliverables and construction work packages are developed and issued in alignment with project schedules and execution requirements.
This role requires a technically experienced engineer with strong skills in power systems design and data management. The successful candidate will manage a diverse workload across multiple projects and collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders, field personnel, and external engineering and construction partners.

About the Position
Chevron ENGINE has an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Distribution Project Engineer to join the Projects & Engineering team. Reporting to the Project and Design Engineering Manager, this role will be based in Chevron’s office in Bengaluru.
Chevron ENGINE supports global operations, and work hours are aligned to business needs. Standard working hours are 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM or 1:30 PM to 10:30 PM, Monday to Friday. These may evolve based on operational or business requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Lead Electrical Distribution System (EDS) design from initial routing determination and constructability assessment—leveraging maps and site walkdowns—through final detailed design deliverables. Accountable for complete design integrity, documentation, and deliverables supporting Outside Plant (OSP) and Inside Plant (ISP) communications infrastructure.
Develop power engineering deliverables, including: One-line diagrams, Control and relay schematics, Area classification drawings, Load flow and short circuit studies using ETAP.
Perform detailed overhead distribution network design for middle-mile and last-mile systems supporting both telecommunications and facilities projects.
Apply and maintain deep knowledge of electrical distribution standards, industry practices, and design processes, while coordinating closely with field personnel and drafting teams to ensure accurate and constructible designs.
Build, run, and validate ETAP models; generate required study reports and outputs to support Construction Work Package (CWP) development.
Develop and maintain Integrated Production Surface Optimization (IPSO) power models and capacity forecasts for regional networks; coordinate with oil, gas, water, carbon, and third-party models to ensure power demand alignment.
Design new electrical systems and upgrades to existing infrastructure, including development of detailed engineering drawings and construction packages.
Provide engineering support to operations and maintenance teams for electrical systems, including medium-voltage infrastructure.
Maintain accurate and complete engineering documentation to ensure traceability, compliance, and future reference.
Retrieve, interpret, and synthesize engineering data from multiple systems and drawings; distribute actionable insights to technical teams and systems of record.
Compile and communicate engineering data to construction teams and third-party engineering contractors to support execution.
Required Qualifications
3 years’ minimum site-based facility experience in a brownfield onshore environment
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering (B.E.) from a deemed/recognized (AICTE) university
Experience on ETAP software modeling.
Preferred Qualifications
5-10 years of Oil & Gas or Petrochemicals industry experience, familiarity with construction focused on Electrical distribution systems
Proficient with Microsoft Office Applications (Excel, Word and PowerPoint) - provide quality checked tables and accuracy with detailed data entry.
