What You'll Do

In this role, you will play a key part in advancing business priorities by delivering high-impact work across your area of expertise.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and integrate electrical and electro-mechanical systems for advanced semiconductor equipment, ensuring compliance with performance, reliability, safety, and manufacturability requirements.
  • Define electrical architecture, power distribution systems, control systems, and interface requirements for new product development and product enhancements.
  • Develop and review electrical schematics, PCBA, power distribution, interconnect designs, system documentation or relevant to support product development and manufacturing.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Manufacturing, NPI, Quality, and Suppliers to ensure successful system integration and product delivery.
  • Analyze system requirements, electrical load budgets, power consumption, grounding, shielding, EMC/EMI considerations, and safety requirements to optimize system performance.
  • Design, specify, and qualify electrical components including power supplies, PLCs, motion controllers, sensors, relays, breakers, safety devices, industrial PCs, PCBA assemblies, etc.
  • Support electrical integration, system bring-up, debugging, troubleshooting, characterization, and validation activities for new products and engineering builds.
  • Develop test plans and execute system and subsystem verification to validate electrical performance, safety compliance, reliability, and product requirements.
  • Ensure designs comply with SEMI S2, SEMI S8, SEMI S22, CE, UL, IEC, NFPA, and applicable international safety and regulatory requirements.
  • Work closely with suppliers and manufacturing teams to assess manufacturability, component selection, obsolescence management, production readiness, and High Volume Manufacturing (HVM) scalability.
  • Develop and maintain electrical Bills of Materials (BOM), schematics, cable drawings, assembly procedures, test documentation, and diagnostic instructions.
  • Support product introduction and sustainment by providing technical training and troubleshooting support to Manufacturing, NPI, Service, and Field Engineering teams.
  • Investigate and resolve complex electrical, control system, and field-related issues using structured root-cause analysis methodologies.
  • Continuously identify opportunities to improve product performance, reliability, cost, safety, and engineering processes.

Requirements:

  • Strong foundation in electrical system design, system integration, and product development for complex electro-mechanical systems.
  • Experience designing and reviewing electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, control panels, power distribution systems, cable assemblies, and interconnect solutions.
  • Working knowledge of industrial control systems including PLCs, HMIs, safety controllers, motion controllers, sensors, actuators, and communication networks.
  • Familiarity with semiconductor equipment safety and regulatory standards, including SEMI S2, SEMI S8, SEMI S22 CE, UL, IEC, NFPA, and related compliance requirements.
  • Experience with electrical component selection and qualification, including power supplies, circuit protection devices, relays, contactors, connectors, industrial PCs, and PCBA assemblies.
  • Understanding of electrical safety principles including grounding, bonding, shielding, EMC/EMI mitigation, electrical hazard analysis, and machine safety requirements.
  • Experience with system integration, prototype bring-up, validation testing, characterization, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis of complex technical issues.
  • Familiarity with failure analysis, reliability testing, DFMEA/PFMEA, risk assessment, and product qualification methodologies.
