Job Description

Our client is seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join their team in Kildare, supporting the delivery of various electrical infrastructure projects across commercial, industrial, and public sectors. This office-based role involves the design, coordination, and technical oversight of electrical systems from concept through to construction. The successful candidate will contribute to high-profile projects and work closely with multidisciplinary teams. To be successful, the preferred candidate will have strong technical design experience, familiarity with relevant standards, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Responsibilities:

• Develop detailed electrical designs, drawings, and specifications for infrastructure projects.
• Collaborate with engineers, architects, and contractors to ensure design intent is achieved.
• Conduct load calculations, cable sizing, and equipment selection in line with project requirements.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and client specifications.
• Participate in design reviews and provide technical input throughout the project lifecycle.
• Support procurement and tendering processes with technical documentation.
• Liaise with clients and stakeholders to ensure clear communication and project alignment.
• Conduct site visits to support installation and commissioning phases.
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to project reporting and documentation.

Requirements:

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 4 years’ experience in electrical design, ideally within infrastructure or building services.
• Proficient in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and electrical calculation tools.
• Strong understanding of Irish electrical standards and regulations.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines effectively.
