Job Description

Our client, a leading Civils & Utilities contractor, is currently seeking an Electrical Construction Manager for a large-scale Solar Farm project set to commence shortly. The role will be site-based and will involve managing all electrical aspects of the project from pre-construction through to commissioning. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing subcontractors, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards, and delivering the project on time and within budget. The preferred candidate will have a strong background in electrical construction management, particularly on utility-scale renewable energy projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage all on-site electrical works, ensuring compliance with project specifications and safety standards.
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure timely delivery of electrical milestones.
  • Oversee installation of electrical infrastructure including cabling, switchgear, transformers, and inverters.
  • Monitor progress and quality of electrical works, resolving issues as they arise.
  • Ensure all electrical testing and commissioning activities are completed to required standards.
  • Maintain accurate site records, reports, and documentation.
  • Liaise with suppliers and manage delivery of electrical materials and equipment.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure adherence to HSEQ policies.
  • Support the project team in achieving programme and budget targets.

Requirements:

  • Degree or trade qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in electrical construction management, ideally on renewable or utility-scale projects.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, installation standards, and safety regulations.
  • Proven ability to manage subcontractors and coordinate multidisciplinary teams.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
  • Full eligibility to work in Ireland and availability for a long-term site-based role.
