Job Description

This role supports the delivery of electrical commissioning activities within complex, mission-critical environments. The position works closely with project stakeholders including engineers, contractors, and operations teams to ensure systems are installed, tested, and handed over in accordance with project requirements. The individual will play a key role in ensuring quality, compliance, and successful system performance throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop electrical commissioning plans aligned with ASHRAE standards and consolidate project documentation including Cx specifications, sequences of operations, LEED Gold requirements, California Title 24 requirements, EHS requirements, and Cx PEP.
  • Review design documents, specifications, and IFC drawings to ensure alignment with commissioning objectives.
  • Finalize Factory Witness Test lists and review submissions with a focus on electrical systems.
  • Create electrical system verification checklists and functional performance test procedures for OAT, FAT, and IST.
  • Review and refine electrical sequences of operations (SOO).
  • Lead Factory Witness Testing of electrical equipment at manufacturer facilities and document results for project stakeholders.
  • Perform visual inspections of MEP installations with a focus on electrical systems and verify structural supports and code clearances.
  • Lead electrical system testing activities as designated Task Leader and verify sensor installations through design verification walks.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary coordination meetings to ensure alignment across project teams.
  • Execute Operational Acceptance Testing (OAT) and verify control system functionality for electrical systems.
  • Test interdependencies between electrical systems and other building systems to ensure proper integration.
  • Perform Functional Acceptance Testing (FAT) to validate system performance in accordance with sequences of operation.
  • Issue Green Tag certification for electrical systems ready for commissioning.
  • Participate in Integrated Systems Testing (IST) to validate system interaction and performance.
  • Verify electrical load testing results using load banks and document system efficiency metrics.
  • Contribute to commissioning punch lists and owner turnover documentation.
  • Maintain detailed commissioning documentation within Smart Completions or equivalent platforms.
  • Create and manage non-conformance logs (NCLs) and track issue resolution through closeout.
  • Generate comprehensive commissioning reports and ensure compliance with LEED and ASHRAE 90.1 energy efficiency requirements.
  • Review O&M manuals and as-built documentation for completeness and accuracy.
  • Attend weekly commissioning meetings and coordinate with MEP, fire protection inspectors, special inspectors, and testing personnel.
  • Collaborate with facility operations teams and stakeholders to support commissioning and system readiness.
  • Lead training sessions for facility personnel on electrical systems operation and maintenance.
  • Support owner acceptance activities and preparation for Blue Tag certification.
  • Assist with LEED reporting and post-occupancy commissioning activities.
  • Engage with facility operations teams to address post-occupancy electrical system concerns.
  • Contribute to post-occupancy commissioning reports and performance evaluations.
  • Any other duties or responsibilities that may be assigned to you in your role.

Skills Required:

  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems within data center or mission-critical environments.
  • Familiarity with commissioning processes including FAT, OAT, and IST.
  • Understanding of ASHRAE guidelines, LEED requirements, and commissioning best practices.
  • Experience reviewing electrical drawings, specifications, and sequences of operation.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills within complex system environments.
  • Experience with commissioning platforms such as Smart Completions or similar tools.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong documentation, reporting, and organizational capabilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction and commissioning environment.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and compliance with industry standards.

Education / Licenses / Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field preferred.
  • LEED accreditation preferred.
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred.
  • NETA certification preferred.
    Proof of education, licenses, and certifications will be required where applicable.

The pay range shown reflects the minimum and maximum hourly rates the company may offer for this position. The final rate will depend on factors such as skills, experience, and qualifications.

Hourly Rate $50$60 USD

Eligibility for per diem is determined by company policy and is applicable only under specific circumstances, based on job location and travel requirements.

Weekly Per Diem $1,500$1,500 USD
