Job Description

The Electrical BIM Intern will support the electrical engineering team in preparing BIM-based electrical designs and drawings for Tatu City infrastructure and developments. The role involves assisting with modelling, drawing production, coordination, and documentation for ongoing projects under supervision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing and updating electrical BIM models for power distribution, lighting, earthing, and low-current systems.
  • Prepare electrical layouts, schematics, and detail drawings using BIM software.
  • Support coordination of electrical designs with architectural, civil, structural, and other MEP disciplines.
  • Update models and drawings based on engineer comments and site feedback.
  • Extract drawings, schedules, and quantities from BIM models as required.
  • Assist in clash detection and resolution under guidance of the Electrical Engineer or BIM Lead.
  • Ensure drawings and models comply with project standards, codes, and Tatu City design guidelines.
  • Maintain proper file management, drawing registers, and version control.
  • Attend internal coordination meetings and site inspections when required.
  • Provide general technical support to the electrical design team.

Requirements

Minimum Requirements

  • Undergraduate or recent graduate in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Basic understanding of electrical building services and power systems.
  • Knowledge of BIM tools, Autodesk Revit (MEP) and AutoCAD.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and reports.
  • Working independent with direction from the senior engineers.

Skills and Attributes

  • Willingness to learn and take technical direction.
  • Good attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Computer literacy.

Preferred (Advantage)

  • Exposure to AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, or similar tools.
  • Previous internship or attachment experience in electrical design and/or construction.
