Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for an Aircraft Electrician 3/4 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals supporting the B-2 Modification Team. This role is located at Whiteman AFB, MO

This position requires a security clearance, so an active clearance is preferred, but a clearance request will be submitted for the selected candidate if necessary. The nature of this position requires individuals to be comfortable working in a classified environment; cell phones and personal electronic devices are prohibited within these areas.

Your duties and responsibilities include (but are not limited to)

o Performs all duties required to lay out, fabricate, and install electrical wiring or coaxial cable on aircraft.

o Checks, tests, and troubleshoots electrical systems for conformance to specifications and performs repair, removal, and reinstallation of wiring as necessary.

o Cuts wire to length, strips insulation from wire ends, and insulates connections with plastic sleeves.

o Attaches wire or complicated electrical systems to fixtures and accessories such as: transformers, instrument panels, and switchboards with fasteners such as bolts, screws, or solder.

o May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.

o Must obtain and maintain electrical qualifications as well as other maintenance certifications directed by supervisor to include but not limited to; low observables, structures, hydraulic couplings, window replacement, engine/tailpipe removal/installation.

o Maintenance tasks include configuring aircraft for maintenance, removal and installation of attaching hardware, component removal and installations, assistance with software uploads, and various system operational checkouts.

o Technical requirements also include fault isolation, troubleshooting, and repair of system failures detected during operational checks associated with maintenance and restoration of aircraft to flying condition.

o Interprets and uses various test equipment and works from wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, job guides, and maintenance manuals.

This position is for 2nd shift. The selected candidate must be willing to work various shifts depending on business needs, including, but not limited to: 1st shift 0630 – 1500, 2nd shift 1430 – 2300, 3rd shift 2230 – 0700 and overtime when required.

Basic Qualifications:

o Level 3: High School Diploma or GED and a minimum of 4 years electrical experience in an aerospace, automotive, military, manufacturing and/or maintenance environment.

o Level 4: High School Diploma or GED and a minimum of 6 years electrical experience in an aerospace, automotive, military, manufacturing and/or maintenance environment.

o Your ability to obtain and/or transfer and maintain the final adjudicated Secret Clearance and any program access(es) required for the position within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company.

o Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, job guides, and maintenance manuals.

o Must be able to successfully complete and pass electrical training class for continued employment.

o This position requires the ability to perform moderate strenuous physical and repetitious work to include: bending, stooping, kneeling, carrying tools, lifting up to 50 pounds, working overhead, and accessing small, confined spaces.

o Must be able to pass a physical/respiratory evaluation to obtain and maintain necessary respirator clearance and compliance with all respirator fitting requirements.

o Must be willing to work a flexible work schedule that may include extended shifts, holidays, weekends, and support on call status for 24 hours-a-day, 7 days-a-week, 365 days a year.

Preferred Qualifications:

o Active DOD Secret Clearance with an investigation date/periodic review within the last 6 years.

Completion of A&P certificate program or Associates degree in an applicable field.

Primary Level Salary Range: $54,500.00 - $90,800.00Secondary Level Salary Range: $64,700.00 - $107,900.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.The application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
