The Automation Mechanic is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of automated machinery and control systems. This role ensures that production equipment operates efficiently and safely, minimizing downtime and maximizing productivity.

- First contact in case of system issues and breakdown reporting.

- Contact supplier helpdesk in case of issues.

- First line mechanical and electrical interventions and exchange of small parts.

- Management between Operations and Region automation BaSE supervisor.

- System training for (new) operators.

- Breakdown and KPI reporting.

- Support facility maintenance team and perform small repairs.

Knowledge / Skills

- Proven experience in automation systems and mechanical maintenance.

- Experience with systems like Exotec SkyPod, Knapp OSR Shuttles, and end-of-line automation (e.g., I-pack packaging machines, shipping label applier and automated conveyors is a plus.

- Ability to read blueprints and electrical schematics.

- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

- Good communication (English) and teamwork abilities.

Professional requirements

- Technical diploma or associate degree in industrial maintenance, mechatronics, electrical or a related field.

Personal requirements

- Problem-Solving Skills: Capable of identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions quickly.

- Safety Awareness: Maintains a strong focus on safety protocols and procedures in all tasks.

- Initiative: Proactively identifies potential issues and takes steps to prevent them.
