The Role

The Electrical Assembly Lead oversees a team of technicians to ensure high‑quality electrical assembly, wiring, and testing of custom industrial automation and robotic systems. This role blends hands‑on technical work with leadership responsibilities, driving productivity, maintaining ISO standards, and supporting continuous skill development within the electrical team. The Lead also collaborates closely with project teams to meet deadlines, uphold safety standards, and deliver reliable equipment performance. This position reports to the Operations Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Organize resources to meet project deadlines, budgets and production requirements.
  • Ensure and deliver high levels of productivity and efficiency from the electrical team and support Managers, Project Engineers and Designers in the realization of their goals.
  • Be an example of fair, assertive and effective leadership and protect and support the Company’s reputation in public with customers, suppliers and other interested parties.
  • Support and develop the technical skills of the Electrical Team, including apprentices.
  • Work as part of a project team with specific duties of electrical assembly and de-bugging on special purpose industrial automation and robotic assembly systems.
  • Assemble, wire and test control panels and machine wiring to detailed electrical schematic diagrams.
  • Provide preventative maintenance and corrective maintenance support for all equipment and on site.
  • Ensure team has the appropriate tools and equipment to carry out their duties.
  • Ensure procedures and working practices to ISO9001:2015 are adhered to and suggest where improvements can be made.
  • Promote and ensure good housekeeping practices in and around the facility and maintain a safe working environment.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential

  • Completion of Apprenticeship in a related field and 5+ years’ experience as an Electrical Technician/ Electrical Assembly in Manufacturing or other relevant industry
  • Highly skilled in assembly, wiring and testing control panels.
  • Ability to work to technical drawings and parts lists and familiarity with PLCs
  • Supervisory or mentorship experience
  • Clear communication skills for update of project tasks
  • Effective interpersonal relationship skills to create a positive and productive team-oriented environment with all departments
  • A proactive and flexible approach to work and be comfortable with a dynamic environment with constantly changing priorities
  • Basic machine tool operation knowledge
  • Reliable transportation and an ability/ willingness to travel; although this position is focused on local clients and minimal travel is required, you should have the ability to travel within US and International

Desirable

  • Ideally a background in industrial automation

Physical Demands

  • While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to feel objects, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, talk and hear.
  • Occasionally lifts or move up to 25 pounds.
