The Electrical Assembler is responsible for the electrical assembly, wiring, testing, and troubleshooting of large-scale power generation and oilfield equipment, including gensets, frac packages, control systems, and related machinery. Working from electrical drawings, schematics, build books, and work instructions, this role ensures all electrical systems are properly installed, tested, and commissioned prior to shipment.

This hands-on position plays a critical role in delivering high-quality, reliable power solutions that meet customer specifications and RPS quality standards. All work is performed in accordance with company procedures, safety requirements, and operational guidelines.

This is an on-site position based in Waller, Texas. The typical work schedule is Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM – 3:00 PM.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble, install, route, and terminate low- and high-voltage electrical wiring and components on power generation and hydraulic fracturing packages.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and build books to complete assemblies accurately.
  • Install and connect electrical distribution equipment, control panels, junction boxes, sensors, switches, relays, transformers, and instrumentation.
  • Perform cable pulling, wire routing, conduit installation, labeling, and electrical terminations.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical issues during assembly, testing, and commissioning activities.
  • Perform continuity testing, insulation resistance testing (megger), voltage verification, and high-potential (hi-pot) testing.
  • Assist with startup, functional testing, and quality inspections of completed power generation and frac equipment packages.
  • Support integration of engines, generators, controls, and auxiliary electrical systems.
  • Ensure all electrical work complies with applicable safety standards, quality requirements, and company procedures.
  • Operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and other material-handling equipment as required.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
  • Wear and maintain proper PPE at all times and actively support a strong safety culture.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, quality, and service teams to support production goals and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Provide technical assistance and guidance to team members as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support successful operations and business continuity.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Technical school certification, vocational training, or associate degree in Electrical Technology, Industrial Electricity, Mechatronics, Instrumentation, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum five (5) years of hands-on electrical assembly experience in power generation, oil & gas, industrial manufacturing, heavy equipment, controls, or related industries.
  • Experience wiring gensets, switchgear, motor control systems, industrial control panels, or packaged power equipment preferred.
  • Working knowledge of AC/DC electrical systems, electrical distribution, and industrial controls.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
  • Experience using electrical test equipment such as multimeters, meggers, clamp meters, and hi-pot testers.
  • Must own and bring basic hand tools.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong electrical aptitude with the ability to assemble and troubleshoot complex industrial electrical systems.
  • Knowledge of power generation equipment, control systems, generators, engines, and related electrical components.
  • Understanding of low-voltage, medium-voltage, and industrial electrical installations.
  • Familiarity with NEC standards, electrical safety practices, and lockout/tagout procedures.
  • Ability to diagnose wiring, control, and instrumentation issues efficiently.
  • Skilled in the use of electrical test equipment and diagnostic tools.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., stand for extended periods, and work around industrial equipment.
  • Ability to work safely in a manufacturing and warehouse environment with exposure to noise, machinery, and industrial conditions.
