This position may be filled by either a Product Trainer or a Principal Product Trainer level based on the qualifications listed.
Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Electrical and Environmental – Product Trainer or Principal Product Trainer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be in Melbourne, FL for the Product Support Group. Operating on our 9/80 schedule meaning you will get every other Friday off. The position has no opportunity for remote or telework.
A successful candidate needs to be experienced with Aircraft Electrical and Environmental Systems Specialty (2A6X6). The candidate needs to also have experience in Instructional Systems Development (ISD) framework for analyzing, designing, developing, implementing, and evaluating (ADDIE) learning systems. Select appropriate instructional methods such as individual training, group instruction, self-study, lectures, demonstration-performance, problem-based learning, student-centered learning, and guided discussion. Support, build, and promote a positive and collaborative culture across all teams. Develop and maintain intermediate level knowledge as a Product Trainer or Advanced level knowledge on E&E sub-competencies as a Principal Product Trainer. Strong written and verbal communication skills are required, as well as strong organizational skills and an ability to work independently in a deadline-oriented environment.
Job Duties Include:
• Develops training curriculum, study outlines, and orientation materials for Electrical and Environmental systems, subsystems, components, and associated test equipment
• Support the development of criteria for evaluating effectiveness of training activities
• Continuously revises lesson plans to meet new training requirements and maintain updated technical information
• Provide input to meet new training requirements and to keep technical information up to date
• Demonstrate and use effective training analysis, project management, course development, and evaluation skills
• Develop instruction materials – self-paced guides, case studies, job aids, evaluations; scenario-based course outlines
• Develop training materials – classroom materials, instructor guides, student manuals, workbooks, related materials; curricula to support program implementation across target audiences
• Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to identify specific training needs and develop solutions for satisfying unique skills-based training requirements
• Create and analyze assessments to evaluate learning effectiveness and instructional improvement opportunities – e.g., pre-tests, post-tests, and quizzes
• Use ISD current Learning Theory to solve complex learning and performance problems
Basic Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications for a Product Trainer (A02): 2 Years of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s degree; High School or equivalent AND 6 years of relevant experience in lieu of 4 year degree
Basic Qualifications for a Principal Product Trainer (A03): 5 Years relevant experience with a Bachelor degree; 3 Years relevant experience with a Master’s degree; High School or equivalent AND 9 years of relevant experience in lieu of 4 year degree
Hands-on aircraft experience with E&E systems operations and maintenance
Experience with E&E on-equipment maintenance; able to service, inspect, test, maintain, troubleshoot, document and perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance actions to meet mission requirements
Experience with E&E off-equipment maintenance; Performance and management of back shop maintenance actions to meet production requirements
Maintenance experience with on and off equipment E&E systems including; AC/DC power generation and distribution systems, aircraft environment control, bleed air, vacuum, pneumatic, installed fire extinguishing and suppressant systems, Oxygen Systems, etc
E&E core systems intermediate sub-competency proficiency Level:
o Inspects maintenance actions for quality control
o Perform operational checks to ensure normal system operation
o Plans, monitors, and reports workplace production efforts
Must have the ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, collaborative/team settings across all levels
Must have working knowledge of customer compliance documents, government instructions, and government standards
Must have familiarity with Microsoft Office products (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
Your ability to transfer and maintain the final adjudicated U.S. government Secret clearance (must be in-scope or enrolled in Continuous Evaluation) and any program access(es) required for the position within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the Company
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree with minimum of 8 years of hands on E&E experience, instruction or industry training in content development
2 or more years of experience in courseware development
2 years of Hands-on aircraft experience with E&E systems operations and maintenance
3 or more years of experience with E&E on-equipment maintenance; able to service, inspect, test, maintain, troubleshoot, document and perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance actions to meet mission requirements
3 or more years of experience with E&E off-equipment maintenance; Performance and management of back shop maintenance actions to meet production requirements
3 or more years of maintenance with on and off equipment E&E systems including; AC/DC power generation and distribution systems, aircraft environment control, bleed air, vacuum, pneumatic, installed fire extinguishing and suppressant systems, Oxygen Systems, etc
E&E core systems advanced sub-competency proficiency level:
o Follows applicable tech data to repair and replace E&E components
o Ensures all maintenance tasks are documented by utilizing applicable publications
o Plans, monitors, reports maintenance efforts to higher levels
Instructor experience or industry training in content development
E&E Expert on Electrical & Environmental Systems Operations and Maintenance Competency
o Consistency of application
o Able to innovate and formulate strategies
o Able to model/guide/teach others the competency of how to apply the competency
A background with F-22, F-35 and/or bomber E&E systems
Able to interpret schematic drawings, and technical publications
Experience inspecting, operating, troubleshooting, removing, repairing, overhauling, and installing aircraft hydraulic and pneumatic systems and components on heavy or fighter airframes.
Capable of performing operational tests on aircraft components determining condition, analyzing performance, and isolating malfunctions.
Basic understanding of Agile processes
Design and development of curriculum for advanced technologies
Experience using courseware development tools – LCMS and LMS

Primary Level Salary Range: $59,600.00 - $89,400.00Secondary Level Salary Range: $73,900.00 - $110,900.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
