Main Purpose and Function
The 2026 Vancouver Election will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2026, at which time approximately 450,000 registered voters in Vancouver will select a Mayor, 10 Councillors, 9 School Trustees and 7 Park Board Commissioners. To support public awareness and participation in the election, the Vancouver Election Office is leading a communications and community outreach campaign. The Election Outreach Worker organizes, hosts, and participates in a range of events to increase awareness of the election, and promotes knowledge about municipal government and the City’s programs and services.
The key goals of the communications and outreach program are:
Ensure voters have non-partisan information they need to vote
Educate the wider community on City programs and services to help them understand what the City is responsible for, and how to connect their values and concerns to their vote
Key Contacts and Reporting Relationships
The position reports to the Communications and Outreach Coordinator and has significant contact with members of the public, community organizations, partners, and other external stakeholders.
