Job Description

JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and managing the procurement of all electrical components and services while ensuring cost efficiency, quality, and timely delivery.

In addition, this position will be responsible for tracking and monitoring all inventory purchased, sold, and shipped for Energy Solutions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

ELECTRICAL PROCUREMENT SPECIALIST (under the guidance of the Procurement and Retail Manager)

· Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers for electrical components, equipment, and services to meet company specifications and quality standards.

· Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors to secure competitive pricing and reliable supply.

· Conduct supplier audits and performance evaluations to ensure compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements.

· Prepare, review, and manage purchase orders, contracts, and agreements for electrical materials.

· Negotiate terms, pricing, and delivery schedules with suppliers to optimize cost and lead times.

· Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies, industry standards, and relevant regulations.

· Maintain accurate records of inventory needs, procurement activities, and supplier performance.

· Monitor and manage procurement budgets, ensuring cost-effective purchasing decisions.

· Collaborate with internal teams to forecast demand and prevent stockouts or overstock situations.

· Work closely with engineering, quality, and project management teams to understand technical requirements and specifications.

· Coordinate with internal departments on order status, delivery schedules, and any potential delays.

· Provide regular reports on procurement activities, supplier performance, and cost savings initiatives.

· Identify and mitigate risks related to supplier reliability, quality issues, or market fluctuations.

· Develop and implement procurement strategies to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance supplier performance.

· Participate in cross-functional projects to optimize supply chain processes and procurement workflows.

· Must be able to read and understand single-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, electrical schematics, and general construction blueprints.

ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS

· Work closely with Procurement and Retail Manager to align on delivery schedules with supplier commitments.

· Support Project Managers/Engineers with electrical supply estimating, planning, and engineering during all phases of a project.

· Coordinate with Site Construction Managers to align field delivery sequencing.

· Interface with Energy Solutions Business Administration for invoicing and cost tracking.

· Work on other projects throughout Energy Solutions as designated by Procurement and Retail Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS/KNOWLEDGE/SKILL/ABILITY

· Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or related equivalent experience is required.

· Minimum of 5 years’ experience in electrical procurement, purchasing, and cost tracking within construction, energy/power, heavy industrial, or EPC environments is required. .

· Experience operating forklifts.

· Experience coordinating large electrical specific construction projects.

· Experience with yard operations is preferred.

· The Electrical Procurement Specialist must possess the following skills and abilities:

  • Strong verbal, written and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong organizational and scheduling skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to read construction schedules and understand project sequencing.
  • Problem-solving mindset with strong attention to detail.
  • Commitment to safety and compliance standards.
  • Excellent relationship building and interpersonal skills.

PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS

· Operate basic office equipment such as; computer terminal, copy machines, email, digital camera and the telephone.

· Operate heavy machinery such as forklifts and telehandlers.

· Sit or stand for extended periods.

· Lift up to 50 pounds.

· Safety climb ladder or on equipment in the shop and/or field.

· Working hours are 8 hours per day, 5 days per week.

· Some overtime may be required depending on workload and project requirements

· Weekend on call as needed.

· Some travel by automobile and air required, with occasional overnight stay.

· Operate a company vehicle requiring a valid driver’s license (driving record must meet company insurance standards and is reviewed annually).
