Job Description

As the Global Governance/Strategic Leader, you will design, implement, and sustain a risk-controlled, enterprise-wide customs compliance and governance framework across the Electrification segment, working in coordination with Regional Customs Managers to ensure standardized practices, policy alignment, regulatory adherence, and scalable governance capabilities

Responsibilities

Governance & Compliance

  • Oversee the enterprise-wide compliance framework across all business lines, ensuring consistent application and adherence to regulatory standards
  • Identify customs risk areas and develop actionable plans and procedures to mitigate those risks
  • Evaluate internal controls and drive implementation of recommended improvement plans
  • Lead Customs Compliance Councils to align governance priorities across regions
  • Monitor evolving trade regulations and customs legislation to proactively adapt the governance framework

Coordination, Enablement & Communication

  • Establish governance protocols for cross-regional compliance coordination; oversee BPO partner governance and performance standards in collaboration with regional managers
  • Collaborate with Customs Manager(s) to embed governance standards within team operations and foster a compliance-driven culture
  • Lead strategic transformation initiatives to harmonize and standardize customs processes across all regions
  • Partner with Customs Manager(s) to co-develop team capability assessments and competency frameworks aligned with governance requirements
  • Provide governance tools, guidance, and escalation pathways to enable Customs Managers in delivering regional objectives
  • Develop and maintain governance communications, training programs, and knowledge management platforms to ensure organizational alignment

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college with minimum 5 years' experience in customs processes OR
  • High school diploma/GED with at least 7 years of experience in Customs processes OR
  • In country Professional Customs Certification or Accreditation with minimum 5 years' experience in customs processes

Desired Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in International Trade, Supply Chain, Law, or related field from an accredited university
  • Deep end-to-end expertise across customs processes, trade compliance, risk assessment, and internal controls
  • Proven ability to design and implement governance frameworks, compliance policies, and standardized operating procedures
  • Proven ability to work across all organizational levels and global cross-functional teams, including senior leadership and government authorities
  • Demonstrated leadership through influence and coordination in a matrixed organization, driving process improvement and harmonization across multiple regions without direct authority
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to translate complex regulatory topics for diverse audiences
  • Experience in vendor/BPO governance, including SLA oversight and performance standard-setting
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in compliance metrics, regulatory monitoring tools, and executive-level reporting

#LI-Remote - This is a remote positionFor candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $117,300.00 and $195,500.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas.
