eLearning Specialist

Business Training

Edmonton or Calgary, Alberta

One-Year Temporary Full Time

Reporting to the Supervisor of Business Training, this position is responsible for consulting and collaborating with client departments, stakeholders and the Business Training Team to develop engaging and interactive eLearning and instructor led courses using Articulate 360.

Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate knowledge of adult learning theories, instructional design theory and evaluation methods.
  • Review the current instructor-led training program and conduct a training needs assessment to identify learning outcomes and methodologies for delivery.
  • Work collaboratively with internal business units and subject matter experts (SMEs) to respond to new training requests to ensure the outcomes, and deliverables of the eLearning project are met within the commitments and expectations established.
  • Utilize large volumes of information coming from policies, procedures, processes and other content to develop or revise eLearning or blended courses.
  • Develop interactive and engaging eLearning courses utilizing Articulate 360 authoring tools and other applications.
  • Maintain quality assurance standards during the course development process and use evaluation metrics to ensure continuous course improvement.

Your experience and skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Adult Education, Instructional Design or a related subject is required.
  • Experience in using Workday, Articulate 360 software, including Storyline 360, to create training materials is required.
  • Experience with Workday Learning Management System or other similar Learning Management Systems is an asset.
  • Maintain inventory of eLearning modules.
  • Experience with video development and/or editing is an asset
  • Demonstrated knowledge of adult education and instructional design
  • Ability to manage time and work independently with a high degree of accountability.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written), interpersonal skills, time management skills, team skills, and the ability to be flexible to adapt to changing needs of our business.
  • Experience in the curriculum development and instructional design of job-specific adult education programs is an asset.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize while working on multiple projects with shifting priorities and competing deadlines.
  • A key requirement of this position is project management skills.
  • Prior experience working with a Workers’ Compensation Board would be an asset.
  • Travel between Edmonton and Calgary may be required.

Salary: Grade 11

Start Rate: $85,182 to Job Rate: $100,174 per annum
