GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
To work in conjunction with the Elderly Steering Committee and to solicit input from members of the targeted service populations to plan, coordinate and carry out recreational and educational activities for elders.Works under the direct supervision of Aging and Disabled Services Area Manager.

STANDARD QUALIFICATION:
All employees of Stockbridge Munsee Community must meet the following qualification:
1.Must submit to and pass a pre-employment drug and health screening.
2.Must be at least 18 years of age, unless otherwise stated on job description
3.Must maintain an acceptable departmental attendance record
4.Must be able to work weekends, nights and holidays
5.Must obtain and maintain Elder/Youth License as stated on job description.
DUTIES:
1. Responsible to research, plan and schedule all recreational and educational activities for the targeted service population which includes the elderly and disabled.
2. Will lead elderly team members during the implementation of planned activity, informing the Elderly Manager and Area Manager of the required staffing needed to successfully execute the activity. Making the staffing request well in advance so ensure staffing needs are meet for the planned activity. This includes pre-event activities such as decorating.
3. Will get input from Elderly Staff, Elderly Steering Committee and members of the targeted service populations for daily planned activities and special event activities.
4. Responsible to communicate and cooperate with the Elderly Steering Committee, Elderly Management and volunteers to carry out planned activities.
5. Responsible to assist designated Elderly Management with implementation of Elderly Fundraising projects; per the Elderly Fund-Raising Policy
6. Responsible to submit the activities calendars for the newsletter and Elderly Stream.
7. Will utilize all methods of media formats to engage and inform public and to maintain public communication of events and news.
8. Responsible to complete the shopping duties for planned activities, including bingo gifts, door prizes, evening snacks, and birthday gift cards.
9. Responsible to complete all purchasing paperwork and submission processes to purchase goods and services related to the activities they plan.
10. Must maintain an acceptable departmental attendance record.
11. Must be reliable and prompt when reporting to work.
12. Required to attend job related, in-service, meetings, and training to maintain professional and technical knowledge.
13. Must adhere to tribal law and other applicable laws as well as tribal personnel policies and procedures.
14. May be required to satisfactorily complete an exam or other testing requirement(s) to determine skill proficiency.
15. Responsible to complete accurate logs and submit weekly activity reports to the Assistant Manager to be compliant with funding sources.
16. Update activities calendar and bulletin board as needed.
17. Assist Elderly Management in seeking donations for events.
18. The above duties and responsibilities are not an all-inclusive list but rather a general representation of the duties and responsibilities associated with this position.The duties and responsibilities will be subject to change based on organizational needs and/or deemed necessary by the supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. High school diploma or GED required. Previous experience designing recreational and educational activities for elderly is preferred.
2. Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.Previous work experience in creative software preferred.
3. Must be able to gauge the needs of the members of the targeted service populations.
4. Must have good organizational skills and public communication skills.
5. Must be creative in small and large event planning marked towards the targeted service population.
6. Must be able to follow and give verbal and written directions
7. Must be able to drive a 14-passenger bus.
8. Must be able to work split shifts including evenings and weekends.
9. Must have some knowledge of the Stockbridge-Munsee Community’s culture and history.
10. Must submit and pass a background security check to meet the Elder/Youth License Requirement as it pertains to the position and the location of the department prior to and during the course of employment with the Stockbridge-Munsee Community.
11. Must be willing to attend all applicable training.
12. Must pass pre-employment drug and health screening.Must adhere to the Tribe’s Drug and Alcohol-Free Workplace Policy during the course of employment.
13. Must be eligible for coverage under the employer’s liability insurance.
14. Must have demonstrated ability to maintain satisfactory working record in any prior or current employment.
15. Must be able to meet physical requirements of position.
16. Must have a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and insurance are required.Must obtain a Wisconsin driver’s license within 30 days of employment if applicant has an out-of-state driver’s license.Must meet and maintain the eligibility to operate a personal or tribal vehicle under the driver acceptability guidelines as established by Mohican Nation Insurance.
17. Must abide by departmental and organizational safety, testing, and uniform guidelines.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
1. This position requires a lot of sitting with occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch, and lift and/or move up to twenty-five (25) pounds.
2. Evening and/or weekend is required. Extended hours and irregular shifts may be required.
3. Work environment requires excellent personal hygiene due to working in close proximity to others and in an enclosed area.
4. A Tuberculosis (TB) Screening and/or TB Skin Test may be required.
