Job Title: EKG/Endoscopy Technician

Schedule: 7a-3:30p (No weekends)
Under minimal supervision, must be able to plan and organize his/her own work. Assist MD as required in specimen
collection and accurate labeling, equipment set up and care. Receives, processes, stocks, and distributes equipment and supplies. Operates sterilizers and other related equipment. Uses computerized inventory and charging system. May be assigned to other departmental duties as required
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Assisting during procedures by supporting physicians and nurses for operating equipment and assisting with collecting samples and biopsies for analysis.
• assists with patient preparation and support by explaining procedures, positioning patients, and providing emotional support throughout the process.
• Equipment preparation for scheduled and add on cases pertinent to endoscopy cases. This includes cleaning, processing, and inspecting endoscopes before, during and after procedures to ensure proper functionality and to prevent infections.
• Assists with inventory management by restocking procedure rooms, monitoring expiration dates, and providing open and effective communication with others to maintain adequate stock levels.
• Maintains detailed records of procedures, equipment usage and patient information associated with the equipment used.
• Adheres to the standards of patient safety and infection control.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Previous experience in the endoscopy setting, minimal of one year of previous experience.
• Proficiency and competency in reprocessing endoscopes.
• Familiarity with Olympus products and reprocessors.
• Endoscopy certification preferred
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATIONS:
• BLS- on hire, if not, AHA must be obtained within 3 months.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.

PAY RANGE:
$23.67 - $33.84
The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
