Job Duties
Serves as EIA Program Manager of LMI and BLS programs. Provides technical supervision of programs, staff, and administrative functions; oversees production, analysis and dissemination of LMI and BLS information, products, publications, reports, and surveys; and ensures appropriate responses to data requests are provided to various parties, website areas are functional and current, and activities comply with applicable requirements. Contributes to continuous development of products and services; serves as designee to Director; provides input on policy development and implementation; and serves as legislative liaison, reviewing legislative and other changes and makes recommendations to address. Guides the development, execution, and continuous improvement of analytical programs that support statewide workforce, labor market, and economic intelligence priorities. Responsibilities include directing data integration projects, managing stakeholder relationships, coordinating cross agency collaborations, and translating complex economic insights into actionable guidance for policymakers, business leaders, and workforce partners. The role ensures the division delivers timely, accurate, and policy relevant analysis that strengthens Virginia’s workforce and economic development strategies.
Minimum Qualifications
Demonstrated comprehensive knowledge in management principles and practices; economy and economic conditions; statistical analysis and economic theory, methodologies, and models; quantitative analysis and quality assurance techniques; and audio-visual presentation and production control techniques, principles, and procedures. Demonstrated strong program management and evaluation, oral and written communication, research, statistical analysis, and computer skills (e.g., statistical software packages and systems, such as Excel, Access, and IMPLAN).
Demonstrated ability to manage statewide programs, professional staff and administrative issues; design and conduct research projects and studies; manage data analysis and reporting; interpret and apply policies; prepare reports; explain complex economic and labor market data; conduct training and make formal presentations; and provide technical assistance.
Additional Considerations
Considerable experience managing BLS or LMI programs & working w/labor market, statistical & economic data in Virginia.
