Postion Purpose:
The EHS&S Lead is responsible for fostering a world-class safety culture and ensuring the physical security of company assets and personnel. This position drives the strategic implementation of safety programs, manages regulatory compliance, and serves as the primary focal point for EHSS performance reporting.
The EHS&S Lead serves as culture champion who inspires mindset and behavioral shifts across a diverse, multicultural workforce.
This role includes management of day-to-day implementation of company safety program requirements, developing and delivering training to employees, establishing avenue for continuous learning of safety best practices and prevention of incidents. The role carefully evaluates trends and practices that can lead to incidents and collaborate with employees, 3rd party contractors, vendors and the management in eliminating risks.
The EHS&S Lead is visible in the workplace by coaching site workers of safety practices, perform line walks, inspections, skills demonstration and audits.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the end-to-end execution of EHS&S policies, ensuring they are integrated into daily operations.
Lead the annual site review of safety program implementation against company standards and implement improvement actions as required.
Design and launch behavioral-based safety programs and activities to drive highest level of safety culture.
Develop and manage incentive programs that celebrate safety milestones and proactive hazard reporting.
Lead the execution of first party audits, safety program implementation health check, site management safety audits, line walks and ensure timely completion of actionable items.
Conduct regular site audits and risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities; track corrective actions to completion.
Perform inspection and verification of site service providers, vendors and contractors to site safety policies and procedures.
Serve as technical expert in reviewing and issuing work permits to site workers, vendors and contractors.
Ensure the site remains in full compliance with local, regional, and national environmental and safety regulations.
Act as the lead facilitator for the Site Safety Committee, ensuring productive meetings, safety program execution and actionable outcomes.
Serve as the departmental focal point for EHS&S metrics, delivering accurate and timely performance reports to senior leadership.
Create and deliver comprehensive EHS&S training modules tailored to various levels of the organization.
Work effectively across different cultures and races, ensuring safety messages are understood and respected by all team members.
Lead site security protocols to protect personnel, data, and physical property.
Lead the execution of safety drills and I AM OKAY procedure during emergencies.
Timely report and investigate near miss and incidents and identify preventative and corrective actions.
Travel to various locations to standardize EHS&S practices and provide on-site leadership during critical projects or incidents.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science or related field required. Electrical and Mechanical engineering is an advantage
Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in EHSS management, preferably in a manufacturing, industrial, or multi-site corporate environment.
Professional certifications (e.g., BOSH, COSH) are highly preferred.
Superior command of the English language (written and verbal) with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
Strong emotional intelligence and the ability to navigate diverse cultural nuances and work styles.
Proficiency in computer operations and a strong command of standard office application to ensure efficient data management and reporting.
Ability to perform technical audits and generate detailed reports.
Ability to work extensively in seed field environments, including exposure to heat, humidity, and varying weather conditions.
Must possess a valid driver’s license and be willing to travel (up to 30-40%) to various sites as required.
