Boeing Global Services, Consumables & Expendables (C&E) Distribution Business is looking for an EHS Specialist (f/m/d) for the Henstedt-Ulzburg, GER facility.
The Environment Health and Safety Specialist will focus on risk mitigation, injury prevention and drive ownership of safety, health and environmental impacts enhancing the safety culture. The individual will develop, implement, and continuously improve programs within the EHS Management System framework in partnership with the broader Global teams. The successful candidate will also ensure compliance with applicable BOEING Policies & Procedures, federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations, and conformance to industry and consensus standards, as appropriate.
Position Responsibilities:
Support projects aimed at anticipating, recognizing, evaluating and controlling safety and environmental hazards.
Ensure the EHS Management System elements are applied effectively throughout the Business.
Drive thorough investigations for all incidents and accidents, develop effective root cause analysis and countermeasures, and ensure timely completion of corrective actions.
Help developing and guiding management to improve their effectiveness as safety leaders.
Effectively communicate company metrics and Key Performance Indicators to functional teams and leadership.
Support conducting site audits, inspections, evaluations, and reviews as necessary.
Support deliberate improvement efforts to improve overall EHS program performance.
Evaluate existing or emergent risk management control technologies and provide information, regulatory assessment, and interpretation and required reporting, and technical expertise to management and employees.
Analyze and assess plant safety trend data and KPI to drive safety resource allocation and drive ergonomic initiatives to reduce injuries.
Supervises the Operating Permit for the local chemical warehouse site in Henstedt-Ulzburg
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Successful completion of an EHS apprenticeship within the logistics and/or wholesale sector.
4+ years’ experience working in a position with responsibility for safety and environmental programs preferably in warehouse logistics, manufacturing or similar industrial segment.
Fluent German and English skills.
Experience working with SAP based ERP systems.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety, environmental science or related disciplines or equivalent subject matter knowledge skills and abilities acquired through work.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and ENABLON.
Experience developing and implementing safety and environmental programs, policies, and training.
Experience in the fields of Federal Immission Control Act, Major Accident Ordinance
Ability to be self-directed and complete work with minimal day-to-day supervision.
