TheEHS Specialistis responsible for implementing, and continuously improving environmental, health, and safety programs to support a safe, health, and compliant workplace. This role partners closely withfront line workers and supervisorsto ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements and company standards,support environmental and safety management systems,participate inincident investigationsincludingimplementationof corrective and preventive actions,and foster proactive culture of continuous improvement across the site. 

Key Responsibilities

EHS Program Management

• Implement, maintain, and continuously improve EHSprograms, policies, procedures, and management systems.

• Conduct hazard assessments, risk evaluations, workplace inspections, and job hazard analyses to identify risks and implement controlmeasures

• Support the implementation and maintenance of ISO 14001 management systems and related initiatives.

• Partner with operational teams to promote a proactive safety culture and integrate EHS best practices into daily operations.

Compliance

• Supportcompliance with applicable federal, provincial, andmunicipalenvironmental, health, and safety legislation, as well asKenvue Standardsby completing required reports, assessments,inspections, etc.

• Conduct internal EHS audits, inspections, and compliance assessmentstoself-identifygaps, including implementationof mitigation actions.

• Support regulatory inspections, customer audits, and corporate EHS assessments.
  

Incident Management

• Participate inthe investigation of workplace incidents, injuries, good saves, and environmental events to determine root causes and implement effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs).

• Coordinate emergency preparedness activities, including response drills, and post-event reviews.

• Maintain accurate EHS records, documentation, and reports in accordance with regulatory and company requirements.
  

Communication and Training

• Develop and deliver EHS training and awareness programs to employees, supervisors, and leaders.

• Provide technical guidance and coaching to support informed decision-making and regulatory compliance.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, Joint HealthandSafety Committees, and leadership to drive engagement and continuous improvement.

• Prepare and present EHS performance reports, compliance updates, and recommendations to management.

What we are looking for:

Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational HealthandSafety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.

Experience

• 1–3years of progressive Environmental HealthandSafety experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or similar environment.

• Experience working in a GMP-regulated environment (preferred).

• Experience implementing and auditing ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems (preferred).

Skills

• Experience inimplementing EHS programs, conducting audits and risk assessments, andparticipating incident investigations, including implementing corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).

• Strongcommunication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.

• Knowledge of the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act, Environmental Protection Act, and applicable regulations to ensure ongoing regulatory compliance.

• Demonstrated ability to perform robust record keeping and inventory managementof databasessuch as chemical& safety data sheet (SDS)database,personal protective equipment (PPE)inventory, etc.
  

Licenses/Certifications

• Canadian Registered Safety Professionalor Technician(CRSPor CRST), Registered Occupational Hygienist (ROH), Environmental Professional (EP), or an equivalent EHS designation (preferred).

• Current certification or formal training in relevant EHS disciplines such asChemical Management, Industrial Hygiene, Noise, Ergonomics, Fall Protection,Standard First Aid/CPR, Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC) Certification, or related programs (preferred).
