The EHS Specialist would be operating from Vallam, Sriperambudur Office and will be taking care of Projects & Services (PCP) part of the GA India business mainly focusing close coordination with Project & Services Team, Contractor coordinators, and site employees for effective implementation of GE Vernova EHS Frame work, Sustainability, Regulatory requirements,….

Roles and Responsibilities

The job description for an EHS Engineer at Vallam, Sriperambudur working in a factory establishment site typically includes the following responsibilities:

  • EHS Management to be established for Contractors management
  • Conducting risk assessments Identifying potential hazards and evaluating risks within the workplace.
  • Compliance to EHS, Quality, … Policies Actions to implement the Policies
  • Training and education Providing training to employees on safe work practices and compliance with regulations.
  • Incident management Investigating and managing incidents, accidents, and safety concerns.
  • Compliance assessments Conducting assessments to ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
  • EHS training programs Developing and conducting EHS training programs to promote safe work practices.
  • Collaboration with stakeholders Working with engineering, manufacturing, and other key stakeholders to develop new standards and procedures.
  • Communication to stake holders Communicating EHS, other requirements for compliance

​QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

  • Possess a recognized bachelor’s degree
  • Qualified, competent, and certified EHS Professional approved by Directorate of Industrial Safety & Health (DISH) from global/ national/ state approved institutes with minimum 5 yrs relevant work experience
  • Expert knowledge of local EHS legislations
  • Good computer skill using MS office (word, excel, power point)
  • Experience with and knowledge of independent standards organizations and certification programs such as ISO 14001, ISO 45001, etc

  • Great communication & inter-personal skills
  • Demonstrated experience in EHS at construction sites
  • Problem solving and root cause identification skills
  • High proficiency in English & Tamil (oral & written)
  • Customer project site audit skills
