Due to continued business growth, we are seeking multiple Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) Specialists to join our team of dedicated EHS professionals based at our Port Melbourne site on a full-time permanent basis This position is based 100% onsite and is an exciting opportunity to be supported by a fantastic team of professionals who will give you the opportunity to shine and further your career.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Interpret and implement statutory obligations for the environment, health and safety program
  • Support internal customers and programs on EHS processes, issues and regulatory compliance
  • Perform inspection and audits, assist in the investigation of incidents and provide corrective action advice to prevent reoccurrence of incidents
  • Participating in the implementation of initiatives to sustain and improve EHS performance and conformance
  • Documenting hazards and controls and evaluating their effectiveness
  • Dissemination of safety material including Safety Bulletins, Hazard Alerts and communications
  • Assisting in the development of risk assessments and risk management documentation
  • Proactively developing solutions to a variety of EHS activities
  • Collaborate with team members to undertake a broad range of operations activities to support the broader environment health and safety team

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills / Experience):

  • Previous experience as an EHS professional in an operational environment is preferred
  • An understanding of Victorian Environmental and Health & Safety legislation and regulations
  • Basic knowledge of the ISO14001 and ISO45001 standards and certification process
  • Experience in environmental hazard and risk management is advantageous although not essential
  • A proactive, problem solving, energetic, team focused approach
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Applicants must have full-time unrestricted working rights in Australia
  • Be flexible to work on afternoon shift on a rotating roster (once every 7 weeks approximately)


Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills / Experience):

  • Tertiary qualification in Environment, Health & Safety or a related field is preferred although not essential


Additional Information:

The successful candidate will be required to complete pre-employment checks and a 6 month probationary period.
