EH&S Specialist (m/f)

Atotech, a strategic brand within the Materials Solutions Division of MKS Instruments, develops leading process and manufacturing technologies for advanced surface modification, including both chemical and electroplating applications. The position is based at our Podnart site in Slovenia.

We offer permanent employment with a 6-month probation period.

Key Responsibilities

Ensuring compliance with Occupational Health and Safety legislation:

  • Participating in updates of the Risk Assessment and Safety Statement,

  • Conducting safety inspections and walkthroughs within the company,

  • Monitoring employees and work processes,

  • Providing training related to chemical handling and occupational health & safety,

  • Preparing instructions for the safe handling of chemicals,

  • Organizing biomonitoring activities,

  • Organizing workplace monitoring activities,

  • Preparing chemical risk assessments,

  • Preparation and implementation of Health Promotion Plans,

  • Ensuring appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE),

  • Maintaining safety-critical equipment,

  • Monitoring the implementation of corrective actions.

Ensuring compliance with Chemical Legislation

  • Maintaining records of hazardous substances,

  • Monitoring updates of Safety Data Sheets (SDS),

  • Reporting chemicals to the Chemicals Office,

  • Reviewing chemical usage restrictions,

  • Preparing legally required chemical-related reports.

Ensuring compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards

  • Participating in internal audits,

  • Preparing reports and monitoring audit findings.

Ensuring compliance with Major Accident Prevention regulations

  • Participating in professional activities related to the prevention of major industrial accidents,

  • Participating in emergency preparedness and response activities.

Ensuring compliance with corporate requirements

  • Cooperation in the implementation of global initiatives, required occupational health and safety procedures and environmental measures

Ensuring compliance with Environmental legislation

  • Participation in the implementation of changes in legislation in the field of environmental protection

What We Expect

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent (Level VII) in Chemistry or another Natural Sciences field; alternatively, a Social Sciences degree combined with relevant experience,

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role,

  • Fluent Slovenian language skills,

  • Good English language skills

  • Reliability, precision, and accountability,

  • Strong communication and organizational skills,

  • Team-oriented mindset and proactive approach.
