
EHS Specialist
Our Round Rock, TX Curtiss Wright facility is growing! We are looking to add an EHS Specialist to our team. Reporting to the Director of Operations, in conjunction with the Curtiss Wright OpEx Department, this position will be responsible for the administering of CW's EH&S program and Business Unit metrics. We are looking for someone with thorough knowledge of fundamentals of safety education, industrial hygiene, accident prevention and safety psychology to drive our team to excellence.

Salary Information:$65,000 - $75,000 annually

Your Challenge:
Administers Curtiss Wright’s EHS program and reports on the BU specific metrics
OSHA/DEP training
conduct risk audits & inspections
development & implementation of safety policies
resolve Worker's Compensation claims
maintain emergency response/evacuation plan
coordinate site waste removal & distribution of protective equipment
Maintains close working relationships with departmental managers/supervisors to ensure proper support of the safety program.
Provides guidance to and counsels employees
Investigates accidents, near misses, etc. that result from mechanical malfunction, material failure or human error.
Identifies hazards and recommends preventative measures and corrective action.
Maintains proficiency in the latest industrial, technical and engineering EHS practices, planning, initiatives and requirements.
What You Bring:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Health Administration, Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science.
Relevant certifications like CSP (Certified Safety Professional), CHMM (Certified Hazardous Materials Manager) and/or OSHA certification are preferred
2-4 years of experience specializing in a manufacturing environment
Ability to understand and follow detailed instructions or procedures with structured deadlines
Strong understanding and familiarity with state and federal workplace compliance guidelines and OSHA/DEP regulatory requirements
Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
Ability to quickly pivot and adapt to changing goals and objectives based on business need
Good color vision and hearing (correction acceptable)
Must have ability to obtain any Company qualification/certification(s) as required
Must be able to lead and work effectively in a team environment
