Job Description
Overall Responsibilities
The ESH Executive supports the ESH Site Manager, site leadership, and National EHS team in implementing environmental, safety, health, security, quality, and management-system requirements at the Telok Gong site.
The role drives legal and corporate compliance, risk reduction, audit and incident follow-up, employee capability, security controls, performance reporting, and continual improvement in line with Sika standards and applicable ISO requirements.
Main Task & Responsibilities
ESH Strategy and Culture
- Support the development and implementation of site ESH and security roadmaps aligned with Sika’s country, regional, and global objectives.
- Promote behavioral-based safety, Sika Minimum Requirements, Life-Saving Rules, and a culture of accountability, learning, and continual improvement.
Management Systems and Documentation
- Support the effective implementation and continual improvement of the Sika Management System and compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001.
- Coordinate periodic management-system reviews and work with QA and site teams to develop, review, maintain, communicate, and train employees on policies, standard operating procedures, work instructions, checklists, and related documentation.
Risk, Audit and Corrective Action Management
- Coordinate safety walks, workplace inspections, internal audits, and corporate audit programs to identify hazards, non-conformities, and improvement opportunities.
- Analyze findings and trends, recommend mitigation measures, monitor corrective and preventive actions, and drive timely closure.
- Prepare accurate audit reports and dashboards for relevant stakeholders.
Incident Management and Regulatory Compliance
- Support or lead investigations into incidents, accidents, near misses, and other relevant events at the Telok Gong site, and provide support to other Sika Malaysia sites when required.
- Conduct root cause analysis, coordinate corrective actions, prepare investigation reports, and ensure timely reporting to management, the Group, and authorities where required.
- Monitor applicable legal and corporate requirements and liaise with consultants, certification bodies, and relevant authorities, including DOE, DOSH, and BOMBA.
Training, Communication and Performance Reporting
- Develop, coordinate, and deliver ESH, security, quality, environmental, and occupational safety and health training for employees at all levels.
- Maintain effective site communication channels, administer required reporting through SpheraCloud, monitor leading and lagging indicators, and prepare timely weekly and monthly performance reports.
Contractor, Supplier and Site Security Management
- Work with Procurement and site stakeholders to assess and monitor contractor and supplier ESH performance and incorporate ESH requirements into selection, onboarding, and ongoing management.
- Oversee site security controls, including guard performance, visitor and vehicle access, security checks, emergency readiness, visitor records, and restricted access to the server room in coordination with IT.
Qualifications
Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree, postgraduate diploma, professional degree, or equivalent qualification in Environmental, Safety and Health, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Professional certifications in ESH, quality auditing, or continuous improvement are an added advantage.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum five years of experience in an environmental, safety, and health role within a manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated experience with ESH management systems, ISO standards, audits, risk assessments, incident investigations, corrective-action management, regulatory liaison, performance reporting, and the development and delivery of ESH training is required.
- Experience with security operations, contractor management, SpheraCloud, or SAP is an added advantage.
General Requirement
Technical and Regulatory Knowledge
- Sound knowledge of applicable Malaysian occupational safety, health, environmental, and machinery requirements, ESH management systems, ISO standards, audit practices, and manufacturing-industry risks.
Analytical and Digital Skills
- Proficient in data analysis, reporting, presentations, and standard business applications, with the ability to interpret trends and communicate practical recommendations.
Communication and Work Style
- Strong organizational, communication, interpersonal, influencing, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Able to work independently, collaborate across organizational levels, and manage multiple priorities with attention to detail.
