This position will be responsible for coordinating the safety activities throughout the facility. This includes being directly responsible for the implementation, maintenance, and improvement of the facility safety and health, as well as their policies, and procedures.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Owns the EHS programs and systems and develops and implements improvements activities.
- Develop and administer safety training for all employees (including outside sales personnel, office, etc.)
- Conduct timely of EHS incidents and customer complaint investigations and ensure timely reporting to leadership.
- Own the corrective / preventative action systems to ensure all actions of incident investigations, customer complaints, safety committees, and other activities are properly tracked and communicated to team members. Complete corrective actions as well.
- Owns the site safety and environmental policies and procedures in accordance with Carlisle standards and regulatory requirements and complete scheduled updates.
- Maintain Hazcom requirements and keep SDS data current
- Coordinate Industrial Hygiene surveys as required (air, noise, ergonomics, etc.)
- Ensure that SOP/ JSA’s & LOTO procedures are up-to-date. Prepare as needed.
- Lead the safety committee. Maintain and audit inspection reports, forklift inspection checklists, accident investigation reports, near miss reports, training, safety inspections, etc.
- Maintain all hazardous material and hazardous material area checks
- Site owner of ISO systems (14001, 9001, etc), serve as an internal auditor, etc.
- Own and oversee proper execution of quality inspection procedures.
Required Skills/Abilities/Knowledge:
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations and occupational plant safety requirements.
- Experience with formal problem solving and root cause analysis.
- Ability to function in a team environment, work well with others, handles multiple priorities and projects as necessary.
- Strong proficiency in MS Office, Benchmark operation a plus.
- Basic mathematics and data analysis skills.
- Knowledge of CPR, BBP and First Aid

Education and Experience:
- Required:
- Associates degree (two-year college or technical school)
- Three years proven experience in EHS, ISO, OSHA PSM, standards and regulations, manufacturing environment preferred.
- Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, safety, or related field preferred.
Equipment Used:
- Standard office equipment.
Working Conditions:
- Significant time is spent on the production floor.
- Exposure to varying temperatures in manufacturing environment.
- Monday – Friday, 8 am – 5 pm. Facilitating training on other shifts occasionally required.
Travel Requirement:
- Travel expectation is 20% for training or support of other facilities.
