Essential Functions:
Develop effective EH&S programs to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and to prevent occupational injuries and illnesses and environmental impacts.
Act as the Site's EH&S Management System Lead, working with the staff, leadership team, and workforce to improve performance.
Manage site activities to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including OSHA, EPA, DOT, others, including Title V air permit, RCRA Large Quantity Generator, SPCC, SWPPP and more.
Ensure correct and on-time completion of all regulatory or NSG EHS related reports.
Lead the Occupational Health Nurse and the EHS Specialist as necessary to ensure effective execution of the EH&S Management System.
Support the activities of the plant through effective communication with operations and/or outside agencies.
Coordinate the generation and reporting of accurate statistical measures of safety programs effectiveness consistent with company standards and regulatory requirements.
Conduct industrial hygiene monitoring and develop appropriate control measures.
Promote employee safety activities involvement at all employment levels.
Introduce new safety policies and practices as they become necessary.
Assist engineering in the assessment and design of safe workstations and equipment.
In conjunction with the facility financial staff, coordinate annual budget activities and assure that accurate reports to management are produced. Establish and maintain the facility safety procedures.
Coordinate OSHA compliance activities in conjunction with the corporate staff. Provide regular reports to management regarding compliance status, the cost of compliance, and the results of inspections.
Participate in incident reporting, review reports for completeness and accuracy. Follow-up on incident root cause identification and corrective action implementation.
Prepares the plant's "Emergency Action Plan".
Adherence to NSG Group Standards of Business Conduct and its Values and Principles
Facilitate the Site Safety Committee.
Work closely with the plant nurse. Follow up on injuries and near misses reported to the First Aid Department.
Other duties as assigned by manager.
Scope/Dimensions:
Incumbent has a high degree of organizational freedom to assign work and develop systems as necessary to achieve plant performance goals.
Incumbent should interact with employees at all levels on a regular basis to develop rapport and provide the training and support needed for all employees to contribute their full potential to the success of the site.
Incumbent will be available by mobile phone at all times to support the continuous manufacturing site in case of equipment emergency, employee injury, government inspection, etc.
Incumbent will maintain a positive working relationship with government agencies and will have has organizational freedom to communicate with those agencies during the normal course of business.

Qualifications Required:
Qualifications Desired:
5 years’ experience in glass manufacturing.
Certified to instruct OSHA 10- and 30-hour courses.
Auditing skills/experience.
Experience with Title V Air permitting.
Six Sigma or other Lean Manufacturing Certification – Greenbelt or above.
Experience with Pollution Control Plants.
Other Requirements
While performing the duties of this position, the associate frequently works around moving machines, chemicals, and high temperature in an industrial environment.
The associate occasionally must travel by commercial means or private transport.
The role may involve prolonged periods of standing and walking, often exceeding 8 hours per day.
Candidates must be able to climb stairs, crouch, kneel, and maintain balance in various working environments.
The position also requires the ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 10 pounds, occasionally over 20 pounds.
