Job Description

We are now pleased to announce that we are currently seeking an experienced EHS Manager to join our team on a major Data Centre project Reporting to the EHS Lead, this role will play a key part in ensuring that all works are delivered in compliance with Winthrop’s Safety Management System and in accordance with statutory legislation and best practice standards.

Requirements

  • Oversee project compliance with the Winthrop Safety Management System
  • Develop and maintain Construction Stage Health & Safety Plans
  • Prepare and analyse H&S performance reports and metrics for management review.
  • Keep senior management informed of ongoing H&S initiatives, performance, and progress.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant Environmental, Health & Safety statutory provisions and legislation
  • Implement and maintain Winthrop Technologies PSCS Environmental, Health & Safety Plans
  • Oversee and support the development of method statements, risk assessments, Safe Plans of Action (SPA), and permit-to-work systems
  • Monitor compliance with the Project Execution Plan and associated safety standards.
  • Promote and maintain a positive safety culture across the project and wider business.
  • Manage C.O.S.H.H. assessments and ensure control measures are implemented effectively.
  • Ensure that safety observations, interventions, and corrective actions are recorded and closed out.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and audits, documenting findings and ensuring corrective actions are completed.
  • Maintain accurate records of statutory inspections and documentation
  • Proactively identify and mitigate project EHS risks.
  • Ensure subcontractor compliance with Winthrop’s and the project’s EHS policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate and manage EHS induction and training programmes for all site personnel.
  • Ensure appropriate PPE resources are available and maintained.
  • Lead or assist in incident and accident investigations, ensuring timely reporting and communication to the project management team.

Skills / Qualifications:

  • Degree in Environmental, Health & Safety or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience managing EHS on large-scale construction projects (Data Centre experience highly desirable).
  • Strong knowledge of current Irish and EU Health & Safety legislation
  • Proven ability to manage all EHS aspects of a complex construction site.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office and EHS reporting systems
  • Ability to work on own initiative while fostering collaboration across teams and subcontractors.
  • Flexible approach to working patterns and changing project priorities.
