The Instructional Designer develops engaging in-person and digital learning materials for Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) training programs for Vertiv Services and Manufacturing. This role creates training content that promotes workplace safety for regional and global audiences.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop engaging eLearning modules using Articulate 360 (Storyline, Rise)
  • Create instructor-led training materials including PowerPoint presentations with voice over, facilitation guides, participant guides, and assessments
  • Develop job aids, reference guides, and flyers
  • Produce or edit video content
  • Update training content as needed to align with company and safety policies and procedures
  • Participate in design reviews and incorporate feedback to improve training materials
  • Collaborate with EHS subject matter experts and Training Program Manager
  • Maintain consistent formatting, branding, and versioning in training materials

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Education, or a related field
  • 3-5 years of professional experience developing technical in-person and eLearning materials, preferably for Environmental Health and Safety
  • Knowledge of Environmental Health and Safety standards and regulations
  • Experience using eLearning authoring tools (Articulate 360 (Storyline, Rise))
  • Experience with video creating and editing tools such as Camtasia, Vyond, and Premiere is a plus
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and project management skills
  • Knowledge of adult learning theory models (ADDIE)
  • Fluent in English (reading, writing, and speaking)

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Extended Computer Use: Creating and editing learning content may require long periods of sitting and continuous use of keyboard, mouse, and multiple monitors.
  • Facility Site Visit (If required): If creation of learning materials requires a visit to a site, there may be extended periods of standing or walking and occasional lifting and/or carrying of training materials, equipment, or supplies.
  • Use of PPE: If creation of learning materials requires a visit to a site, the required PPE for that site must be worn (Hard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection, steel-toed boots, etc.).

ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS

  • Noise Level: Moderate office noise (phones, conversations, and office equipment). May be noisier if visiting facility. Hearing protection may be required if visiting site.
  • Environment: 100% on-site/in-office
  • Hours adjusted for some alignment with Eastern Time business hours

TIME TRAVEL REQUIRED

  • 10%
