Ventura Coastal is seeking an Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Generalist to join our EHS team and support the implementation, execution, and continuous improvement of environmental, health, and safety programs across our facilities.
This is a hands-on role that partners closely with Operations, Maintenance, Project Management, Human Resources, Food Safety & Quality Systems, and other members of the EHS team to maintain regulatory compliance, identify and reduce workplace risks, and strengthen our overall safety and compliance programs.
The EHS Generalist will have a primary functional assignment in either Environmental & Health Compliance or Safety, based on departmental needs and the selected candidate’s experience. While the position will have a primary area of responsibility, the EHS Generalist will also develop cross-functional EHS knowledge and provide backup support across both areas.
This position reports to the EHS Manager and requires regular travel between our Visalia and Tipton facilities.

Additional Qualifications
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to interpret regulatory requirements and clearly communicate expectations to employees and leaders at different levels of the organization. Strong organizational and regulatory recordkeeping skills. Ability to manage changing priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Professional approach when working with employees, customers, visitors, vendors, regulatory agencies, and other business partners. Ability to work a flexible schedule and travel regularly between the Visalia and Tipton facilities.
Lockout/Tagout, machine guarding, Hazard Communication, powered industrial trucks, PPE, confined space, heat illness prevention, ergonomics, or related occupational safety programs.
Knowledge of Cal/OSHA requirements and workplace injury reporting. OSHA 30-Hour General Industry certification. Bilingual in Spanish and English. Experience working in a manufacturing or similar operational environment.
Environmental permitting, regulatory reporting, hazardous materials, wastewater, air quality, CalARP/RMP, PSM, SPCC, stormwater, or related compliance programs.
Bachelor’s degree or 5+ years of Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) experience required. Working knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local environmental and occupational health and safety regulations. Experience implementing and administering EHS programs, including regulatory compliance, employee training, inspections, incident investigations, hazard identification, and corrective action management. Demonstrated experience or knowledge in either Environmental & Health Compliance or Safety.
Additional EHS Responsibilities
Maintain accurate EHS records, including inspections, corrective actions, training records, regulatory documentation, and performance reporting. Assist with developing and updating EHS programs, policies, procedures, SOPs, training materials, and employee communications. Provide cross-functional EHS support and backup coverage as needed. Support regulatory inspections, internal audits, emergency response activities, and incident investigations. Assist the EHS Manager and Human Resources with post-incident management and return-to-work coordination, as assigned. Participate in an on-call rotation and provide after-hours support for environmental releases, workplace incidents, emergency response activities, regulatory matters, and other situations requiring EHS involvement. Promote and model Ventura Coastal's environmental, health, and safety expectations throughout the organization.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary: $71,000 - $77,000 annually
Bonus Opportunity: Performance-based annual incentive.

Ventura Coastal's primary products are customized blends of orange, lemon and grapefruit juices, oils, essences, and pulp. Ventura Coastal has over 300 clients, including many large grocery store chains and dairies that private label our juice and concentrates as their own.
