Establish EH&S strategies and programs to ensure a safe work environment by promoting a positive safety culture engaging all associates to be compliant with local authorities, country, and local regulations.
Implement corrective safety actions and preventive actions through the identification of improvements in all company areas.
Analyze safety and work environment, the operation of equipment and safety systems through EHS inspections to develop prevention training programs together with other types of actions aimed at eliminating risks, promote planning and the adequate response to emergencies, as well as the generation of adequate conditions for the existing work or to be implemented, including materials and equipment.
Identify factors of labor and contractual instability.
Develop EHS consciousness. Including the design of stretching and ergonomics programs to improve the health of our employees.
Analyze EHS performance identifying, recommending, and driving improvements.
Ensure a robust safety audit process is in place for all facilities to pinpoint unsafe working conditions, behaviors and practices, and develop sound recommendations for corrections.
Develop and recommend incident/accident prevention programs to include specific protective procedures and devices, ensuring effective investigations with root cause analysis. Drive associated documentation and implementation of corrective action.
Coordinate the training and daily operation of the emergency brigades.
Manage programs for waste management, as well as lead recycling efforts and campaigns.
Review the EHS work permit authorizations, manage renewals and/or audits.
Full cycle management of non-conformities regarding security.
Generate, validate and update EHS procedures, as well a s review the SOPs and their respective approval.
Obtain, negotiate and supervise external contractors.
Bachelor’s degree in Occupational, Health and Safety Engineer or similar.
Strong verbal, written, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
Fully bilingual (English/Spanish).
At least 3 years of experience in similar role in the medical device industry.
Ability to lead emergency situations including accidents, evacuations, earthquakes and fires.
Previous experience in ISO 14001 environment or implementing an ISO 14001 program is a plus.
Knowledge of the current legislation.
