Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Coordinator - 2nd Shift

Location: Springfield, MO Area

Department: Environmental Health & Safety

Reports To: EHS Manager

Shift: Monday-Thursday 3:30pm-1:30am

Position Summary

Amprod is seeking a proactive Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Coordinator to support our growing manufacturing operations during second-shift hours. This role serves as a key safety resource across multiple facilities, helping maintain a safe, compliant, and environmentally responsible workplace. The ideal candidate will be highly visible on the production floor, able to identify and address hazards, investigate incidents, conduct training, and partner with employees and leaders to strengthen our safety culture.

Key Responsibilities

• Support and improve company safety and environmental programs.
• Conduct workplace inspections, audits, and hazard assessments.
• Investigate incidents, near misses, injuries, and environmental events; recommend corrective actions.
• Serve as the primary EHS resource during second-shift operations.
• Monitor compliance with OSHA, EPA, and company safety requirements.
• Lead or assist with employee safety training, orientations, and toolbox talks.
• Support emergency preparedness, response efforts, and drills.
• Assist with environmental compliance activities, waste management, spill prevention, and recordkeeping.
• Track safety metrics, corrective actions, and EHS documentation.
• Promote employee engagement, hazard reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Travel between local company facilities as needed.

Qualifications

Required:

• High school diploma or GED.
• 2+ years of experience in safety, EHS, manufacturing, industrial maintenance, production leadership, or a related industrial environment.
• Strong hazard recognition, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and make sound decisions.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Valid driver's license.

Preferred:

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Technology, or related field.
• 2-4 years of dedicated EHS experience in manufacturing.
• OSHA 30 certification and knowledge of OSHA General Industry standards.
• Experience with incident investigations, Lockout/Tagout, machine guarding, confined spaces, respiratory protection, environmental compliance, and industrial hygiene.
• First Aid/CPR/AED certification and professional EHS certifications (ASP, CHST, OHST, GSP, etc.) are a plus.

Schedule: Primarily 2nd Shift with occasional overtime, weekends, or schedule adjustments based on business needs. Travel between local facilities may be required.
