Responsibilities

  • Coordinates and organizes the implementation of occupational safety and health measures at Employer workplaces, as well as with contractors and service providers. Oversees contractors/service providers to ensure compliance with EH&S requirements, valid work permits, and contract training on conduct and EH&S rules.
  • Participates in the development of the Risk Assessment Act for the workplace and work environment; proposes amendments and supplements to the Risk Assessment Act when justified.
  • Ensures the application of legal and other requirements, adhering to all relevant laws and regulations in the fields of occupational safety, fire protection, environmental protection, and emergency management.
  • Conducts internal inspections of occupational health and safety and environmental protection systems, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards.
  • Participates in the development, maintenance, and adherence to all internal documented information, procedures, and rules for occupational safety, with a focus on supporting the improvement of health and safety management systems, fire protection, environmental protection, and emergency management per ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standards, as well as corporate requirements.
  • Represents the company in ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 audits, including management system audits, customer audits, etc.Prepares the annual budget proposal for the EH&S Team in collaboration with the immediate supervisor.
  • Organizes periodic inspections and tests of work equipment, electrical installations, fire protection equipment, hydrant installations, periodic tests of chemical and physical hazards, lighting, and microclimatic parameters in work and auxiliary rooms, emission measurements, groundwater and wastewater, and environmental noise measurements in cooperation with authorized institutions.
  • Issues work permits for cutting, welding, soldering, and specific work.
  • Maintains mandatory records in the field of occupational health and safety
  • Participates in employee training during onboarding, as well as in periodic checks in occupational health and safety, fire protection, evacuation, waste management, and chemical handling. Participates in training employees when specific risks arise (e.g., working at heights, working in confined spaces).
  • Participates in drafting guidelines for pre-employment, periodic, targeted, and ophthalmic examinations and assigns employees to workplaces in accordance with medical reports and the Risk Assessment Act.
  • Conducts incident investigations, handling cases of workplace injuries, first aid, near misses, and prepares documented information on events.
  • Coordinates the work of the waste management team, keeps records of waste, and reports monthly to the supervisor on waste quantities by type.
  • Proposes work suspension when immediate danger to workers' life and health is determined or prohibits the use of faulty equipment, personal protective equipment, and informs the Facility and EH&S Manager.
    Advises the employer on planning, selecting, using, and maintaining work equipment, hazardous substances, and personal protective equipment.
  • Collaborates with labor inspections and participates in oversight and control procedures for implementing measures in assigned areas, and prepares reports for labor inspection on correcting deficiencies and irregularities and other mandated obligations.
  • Collaborates with external partners for occupational safety and health, fire protection, environmental protection, occupational health services, the Chemical Advisor, and the Dangerous Goods Transport Advisor (ADR).
    Participates in procuring work equipment, personal protective equipment, work clothing, and other equipment defined by the annual budget.
  • Notifies the Environmental Protection Agency of the Republic of Serbia about waste transport, chemicals, and annual reporting in cooperation with associates

Skills & Experience

  • Minimum of three years of experience in occupational safety and health, fire protection, environmental protection and/or emergency situations
  • University degree or higher in occupational safety and health, fire protection, environmental protection and/or emergency situations
  • Passed a professional exam in the field of fire protection
  • Passed a professional exam in the field of occupational health and safety
  • Good knowledge of the English language
  • Experience in implementing ISO14001 and ISO 45001 is an advantage
  • Internal auditor certification for ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 is an advantage
  • Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Intermediate level of knowledge of Microsoft Office programs: Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint
