Hours: 8am - 5pm (can vary)

An EHS Coordinator ensures workplace safety, environmental compliance, and employee health by developing policies, conducting audits, and providing training.

Key Responsibilities

  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure the organization complies with federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations, including OSHA, EPA, and ANSI standards
  • Policy Development: Develop, implement, and maintain EHS policies, procedures, and safety programs tailored to the organization’s operations
  • Training and Education: Conduct employee training on safety protocols, emergency procedures, and environmental protection practices
  • Inspections and Audits: Perform regular workplace inspections, identify hazards, and monitor operational processes to mitigate risks
  • Incident Management: Investigate accidents or environmental incidents, document findings, and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence
  • Emergency Preparedness: Assist in developing and implementing emergency response plans and safety drills
  • Reporting: Prepare and submit compliance reports to management and regulatory agencies, maintain records of incidents, and generate health and safety assessment documentation
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on EHS trends, regulations, and best practices to enhance workplace safety and environmental stewardship

  • Leadership and Communication: Ability to lead safety initiatives, train employees, and communicate effectively with management and staff
  • Attention to Detail: Acute awareness of potential hazards and meticulous documentation of safety procedures and incidents
  • Problem-Solving: Develop practical solutions for mitigating risks and improving workplace safety
  • Analytical Skills: Conduct risk assessments, audits, and compliance evaluations to identify areas for improvement

Work Environment

EHS Coordinators typically work in office and field settings with occasional site visits, inspections, or training sessions. Some travel may be required depending on the organization’s operations
This role is critical for maintaining a safe, healthy, and environmentally responsible workplace while ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations.
