Job Description

SHINE Technologies is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Coordinator to serve as one of the role models for safety, protection of the environment, and preservation of the health of our employees, guests, and neighbors.

The base salary range for this position is $80,000-$110,000 per year plus a comprehensive compensation package. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Specific duties and responsibilities of EHS Coordinator include, but are not limited to:

  • Demonstrates a deep, personal commitment to safety, preservation of the environment, and the health of our employees, guests and neighbors at all times.
  • Leads corporate program implementation, agency required data collection and reporting, risk assessment, incident analysis, training and overall program management for all entities. This includes developing and executing a plan to partner with business leaders and employees to increase shared responsibility/accountability for safety.
  • Conduct frequent walk downs of SHINE facilities/workplaces to identify/assess and address potential work place safety issues.
  • Conduct occupational Industrial Hygiene monitoring in support of SHINE R&D and production activities.
  • Prepare and conduct employee trainings to cover emergency procedures, workplace safety, and other relevant topics.
  • Work with Radiation Safety Officer to implement radiation protection department policies, programs, and procedures as required.
  • Perform other duties as requested or assigned.
  • In partnership with HR, support compliance actions and reporting with all applicable regulations and/or guidelines established by OSHA, WDNR, DOT, and other applicable agencies. Includes completion and submission of all related reports on time.
  • Serve as point of contact for SHINE Safety consultant

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in safety related discipline preferred
  • OSHA certification preferred
  • Two years’ experience in safety related disciplines
  • Acute attention to detail and problem-solving ability
  • Strong leadership and training ability.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort:

  • Requires frequent leaning, bending, stooping, crouching, grasping, and reaching above the shoulders and below the knees.
  • Moderate physical activity. Requires handling of average weight objects up to 40 pounds or standing and/or walking for more than four (4) hours per day.
  • Fine motor coordination and strong depth perception is beneficial.
  • Work involves moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.
  • Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.

Eligibility for employment is conditioned on the applicant’s ability to qualify for access to information subject to U.S. Export Controls. Additionally, applicant’s eligibility may be conditioned based upon meeting the Nuclear Regulatory Commission requirements for access to Safeguards Information, which typically requires a pre-employment drug screen, fingerprinting and criminal background check.
