Description

Responsible for understanding user needs and optimizing the user experience within NextGen, ensuring efficient workflows and seamless integration of technology into Centennial’s behavioral health processes. Focuses on improving efficiency and client care, and ensuring the system is user-friendly and meets organizational requirements. The EHR usability analyst will be located in, or willing to relocate to (in a reasonable timeframe), our serviceable states of Colorado, Kansas, Nebraska, Arizona or Texas.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

No formal supervision, but may be tasked with leading projects from time to time.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • User Needs Assessment: Conducts research and gathers feedback from end-users (clinicians, staff) to understand their needs, pain points, and desired workflows within the NextGen system.
  • Workflow Optimization: Analyze existing workflows and identifies areas for improvement to enhance efficiency, reduce errors, and improve the overall user experience.
  • System Customization: Configures and customizes the NextGen system to meet the specific needs of the organization and its users.
  • Usability Testing: Conduct usability testing to evaluate the effectiveness and user-friendliness of the NextGen system and its features.
  • Training and Support: Develops and delivers training materials and support documentation to help users effectively utilize the Nextgen system.
  • Liaison Role: Act as a bridge between clinical staff and development, translating user needs into technical requirements.
  • Data Analysis: Monitor data and analyze the system for performance issues.
  • Collaborates with product manager and the development team to identify areas for improvement to meet business and clinical needs.
  • Change Management: Effectively communicates the process changes, enhancements and modifications both verbally and through written documentation to management and staff so that issues and solutions are understood and utilized in decision making and every day operation
  • User interface design: Prioritize user-friendliness by creating intuitive layouts and clear labeling on the templates to minimize errors and streamline data entry.
  • Security and compliance: Adheres to HIPAA regulations by implementing appropriate data security measures within the customized forms. Participates in planning, conducting, and documenting security standards with the electronic health record including system access and working with the agency’s compliance officer to ensure privacy and security standards are maintained.
  • System Updates: Coordinates, develops, tests, implements, and maintains system upgrades to optimize functionality, operational efficiency, and use. Documents and tracks system upgrades and changes in accordance with change management procedures (Change Management).
  • Regulatory Requirements: Assists in managing the patients' health information and medical records to meet legal, ethical and medical requirements.
  • Assists in implementation of programmatic software integration through APIs, including analysis, design, specification, implementation, go-live, and support.
  • Participates in user groups meetings and training courses in order to learn more about the products and to stay up to date on EHR best practices and emerging technologies.
  • Writes and maintains clear and concise procedural documentation for current and new processes in modern agile document management system.
  • Participates in agile development including stand ups and sprints.
  • Performs other job duties as assigned.

ABILITIES, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS

  • Hands-on Knowledge of EHR systems such as NextGen or Epic.
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionality to resolve complex issues.
  • Capable of working independently with forms, databases, training material and documentation.
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to accurately maintain and document procedure, such as user guides, change logs and incident reports.
  • General knowledge of accounting, MIS theories and practices.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents.
  • Understanding and experience with HIPAA and other healthcare regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Strong interpersonal skills required.
  • Must be well organized and detail-oriented.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to continuous skill development including applicable technology to competently serve individuals from diverse cultures and backgrounds.


Requirements

EDUCATION

Associate’s degree or higher – preferred

Years of relevant experience will be considered in lieu of a degree

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS, EXPERIENCE

Minimum 2 to 4 years of experience developing within Electronic Health Records, Healthcare, SQL, Python, JavaScript, and agile development process.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

$23.22 - 29.01/hr
