EHR Systems Analyst – Epic Ambulatory

Houston, TX (Hybrid – 1–2 onsite days/week)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced EHR Systems Analyst (Epic Ambulatory) to support a high-impact initiative focused on Epic Ambient Listening technology and large-scale provider onboarding.

This role plays a critical part in optimizing the electronic health record (EHR) system across ambulatory clinical workflows, with a strong focus on hands-on Epic build, configuration, and documentation support. The selected candidate will help support the onboarding of approximately 650 providers, ensuring seamless integration of new AI-enabled documentation tools into clinical workflows.

We are seeking a hands-on Epic builder with deep ambulatory configuration experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide advanced technical expertise in Epic Ambulatory build and configuration
• Design, build, and maintain clinical documentation tools including note templates, SmartForms, and SmartText
• Analyze clinical workflows and collaborate with providers and subject matter experts to optimize EHR functionality
• Support implementation and onboarding of Epic Ambient Listening tools
• Assist providers during onboarding sessions for approximately 650 providers across the rollout
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex Epic-related issues
• Participate in workflow analysis, system enhancements, and ongoing optimization efforts
• Support ticket resolution and documentation of system changes
• Collaborate with clinical and IT teams to ensure successful EHR adoption

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required
• Epic Ambulatory Certification required
• Minimum 5 years of Epic EHR experience including implementation, build, or configuration
• Demonstrated hands-on Epic Ambulatory build experience
• Strong experience with clinical documentation build including note templates and SmartTools
• Experience with ambulatory and outpatient workflows
• Experience with EHR system analysis and optimization
• Experience working with clinical end users and provider-facing workflows
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
• Experience using ticketing systems such as ServiceNow or similar

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Epic inpatient workflows
• Exposure to Epic Ambient Listening or AI-driven documentation tools
• Experience supporting provider onboarding at scale
• Experience in large healthcare systems or academic medical centers

Work Environment

This is a hybrid role with primarily remote work and 1–2 onsite days per week in Houston, TX, for provider sessions and collaboration.

About the Project

This role supports Project Ambient Listening, an initiative leveraging Epic technology to automatically generate clinical documentation from provider-patient conversations. The goal is to improve provider efficiency, reduce documentation burden, and enhance patient care delivery across ambulatory settings.
