EHR Support Specialist
A challenging position assisting other providers and staff with planning, coordination, support,
training and implementation of the Electronic Health Record for Practice Management clinics.
Position is not solitarily HIS/IT based; in addition the position will include performing multi-tasking
clerical duties. All in an effort to create an effective and efficient work place in order to provide the
best service and care to the patients of TJ Regional Health.
Job Requirements
Minimum Education
Associate or bachelor’s degree in nursing
Required Skills
Must have proficient computer skills, with ability to think quickly and problem solve within the
database and the EHR software. Have driving self-motivation to research problems/complications
that other users may have with software in order to quickly and accurately provide a solution. The
ability to work on multiple on-going projects at the same time will be a necessity. Great
communication skills that allow one to both train other staff and physicians within the EHR
software; as well as communicate with patients, as needed, in a friendly and kind manner.
Experience with Practice Management software Centricity is preferred.
Minimum Work Experience
Three to five years of nursing experience with knowledge of Electronic Medical Records.
Preferred experience in clinical informatics.

Essential Functions
Assist management and HIS staff in the implementation of the EHR software
Effectively trains users in the performance of their duties as required
Provides technical support and guidance to team members on EHR
Establishes and maintains regular communications with users throughout the company
Keeps management well informed of activities, needs, problems with software and/or user issues
Meets with practice management to modify specifications by physician users and remaining user
community
Developing and management of EHR specific reporting
Attend any additional meetings/ training sessions, as needed or directed
Maintain patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations
Facilitates and oversees the development of clinical workflows
Participates in performance monitoring, analysis, tuning and troubleshooting system hardware
and software and escalating any issues to the appropriate resource for immediate correction.
Applies knowledge of nursing and informatics to assist in the ongoing modification of workflows to
develop, implement, and support workflows to achieve the organization’s clinical quality goals.
