Job Description

A family of four traveling to Lyon, France is seeking a French speaking nanny to help care for their two children aged 2.5-years and 6-years.

They will be staying at their villa, and accommodation can be provided if the candidate isn't local.

The family will also have support from another local nanny who you will be working alongside in staggered shifts, though you will take on more of the childcare based role.

The position starts July 5th through August 9th. During this time the family intend to travel to Paris for 5-days where the nanny would accompany them. They will also spend a long weekend in Megeve, July 30th-August 2nd but the nanny isn't required to join them there.

There is a tentative schedule of Monday through Friday and either 8am-5pm or 10am-7pm depending on which shift you are working. The family require babysitting on the following dates -

Saturday July 11th, require midday-evening childcareSaturday July 17th, require babysitting in the evening

The ideal candidate is someone who is firm but fair and can hold boundaries. Be able to come up with fun ideas, and think on their feet.

Responsibilities

All childcare responsibilities including but not limited to -

• All daily care for the two children
• Ensure the children's bedrooms and play-areas are kept clean and tidy
• The parents would like for the children to be encouraged to be involved in age appropriate tasks - make their beds, tidy away after themselves, etc.
• Planning fun activities and trips, and accompanying them at all times
• Speaking with them in English and French
• Preparing healthy meals for the children
• Tag-teaming with parents, with a mix of sole and shared care
• Liaising with the other nanny and ensure communication is clear
• Supervising the children in the villas swimming pool
• Assist with the children's laundry if needed (the family have a housekeeper)

Qualifications

• French speaker preferred
• Driver would be preferred
• A swimmer is preferred or at least feel confident in the pool observing the children

Requirements

• Candidates must be local to France
• Prior experience with similar aged children would be appreciated
• Babysitting 1x per week
• A fun, positive personality and a pitch-in attitude is essential
• Warm and patient
• Flexibility if plans change
• Excellent communicator
• The ability to read a room
• Be a self starter

Salary and Benefits

• €30-€40 per hour (doe)
