This position involves skilled professional and technical work involving patient contact and the performance of various neurophysiological tests. Work is performed under general supervision in accordance with established procedures. Performance requires good judgment and action in specific situations. Performs test on neonate, pediatric and adult patients.

Essential Functions:

· Assist in scheduling, pre-certification, corporate compliance, charge capture, and denial management of procedures. EEG as needed by the department.
· Communicates with NEUROLOGIST with all aspects of testing and references required, as well as medications, if any are required.
· Prepare patients for EEG TEST. Including; obtaining patient history and any contraindications, instructing patient and explain the techniques, applying electrodes, perform EEG testing as needed by department and facility
· Co-ordinate and prepare EEG for interpretation with NEUROLOGIST
· Maintain accurate departmental records and files for EEG.
· Participate and assist in the departmental Performance Improvement Plan.
· Attend departmental and QA meetings as required by management.
· Completes month/year end reports and other related reports when necessary.
· Maintain safety and infection control measures.

· Report sentinel events and/or incident to Manager, Risk Management, Security, and/or Radiation Safety Officer in a timely manner.

· Serve as a preceptor to new employees and/or trainees.

· Maintain clinical competencies and credentialing.

· Perform Visual Evoked Response Study as requested by the Physician.

· Prepare completed study for Doctor interpretation. Perform 24 hour Ambulatory EEG Study as requested by the Physician. Prepare completed study for scanning and Doctor interpretation.

- EEG experience preferred, but not required

Knowledge & Skills

- Broad range of administrative and technical skills

- Ability to execute multi-step diagnostic procedures

- Produces final output within established departmental standards

Education:

· ​Must have High School diploma or GED.
