Job Description

The Electrical Engineering Manager is responsible for overall machine system level electrical power and control design and integration. He/she will manage resource allocations, project schedules, project budgets, and product costs.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage the overall design and integration of electrical & electronics in system at machine level
  • Guide the development of new features to continuously improve existing products
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Mechanical Engineering, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, supply chain organizations, etc. and lead system-level discussions including impact on overall system performance
  • Design of control systems including selection & integration of sensors, drivers,actuators, solenoids and motors
  • Develop machine level PLC programs
  • Documenting designs and bills of materials for accurate records of assemblies, submit to release in PLM system
  • Assist Manufacturing and/or Contract Manufacturers to troubleshoot issues or review ECR’s
  • Train, mentor and develop capabilities in the EE organization
  • Being a team player, maintain flexibilities to complete tasks on hand
  • Ability to travel occasionally as required


EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor or above in engineering discipline, with emphasis on automation, system control and electrical integration.
  • 10+ years of capital equipment industry experience, with 3+ years in management role
  • Expertise in SolidWorks Electrical and/or Eplan
  • Familiar with control cabinet layout design, cable standards and cable drawings
  • PLC programming experience required, knowledge in C Sharp programming desirable
  • Familiar with electronics lab tools and instrumentation (DVM, Scope, soldering,etc.)
  • Design project planning and management
  • Ability to work with cross-functional groups and lead system-level discussions including impact on overall system performance
  • Analytical and Communication Skills
  • Capable of hands-on work
